Having read through older posts in this forum (http://www.btcc.net/forum/showthread.php?t=2880) I have noticed that although you have said there is not a conflict of interest between your role as BTCC championship administrator and Chairman of the MSA, surely there is potential for a conflict to be seen?

The Peterborough Motor Club have had a race date at silverstone for the past 56 years. 2007's was to be the 22nd April, but they have lost this date due to Silverstone holding it open for your championship. Silverstone are STILL holding this date and so the Peterborough MC have lost their chance for a race meeting this year.

As a supporter of both club motorsport and the BTCC I find it disappointing that the Championship run by the Chairman of the MSA is trampling all over the smaller clubs, surely you should be setting a good example and working with clubs rather than against them?

Sorry, but I am at a total loss to understand your point;

The April 22nd BTCC event has been widely announced as being at Rockingham....so I fail to see where I/we have been "trampling all over the smaller clubs", as your event is at a totally different venue on that date (i.e Silverstone)!

If Silverstone still have not confirmed to you the April 22 date for your race meeting, then that's nothing whatsoever to do with myself or the BTCC - that's purely a matter between your club and Silverstone.

Just to put your mind at rest and to be absolutely clear on this - we certainly have not asked or suggested to them to still 'hold' that date for the BTCC. Why they have advised your club that they continue to do so is a total mystery to me. I can only imagine it's an administrative error or suchlike.

Therefore, your remarks and assertions are completely unfounded and I respectfully suggest you take up your complaint with the circuit itself.
