Brooklands, you should not be too envious of those of us that do some work on the other side of the fence, often the spectator photos, yours included, are equal and even sometimes better than 'media' photos.
One of my photos has made it along side some of Marc W's images, on a certain lady drivers website, other images I've taken will be sent to publications that feature MGs.

Race pics as promised....
Race 1 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157602432861108/detail/)
Race 2 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157602432937824/detail/)
Race 3 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157602432983064/detail/)
Pits & People (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157602433049716/detail/)
Not so many of race 3 as I wanted to get into position for a shot of the championship winning driver passing their pit crew at the chequered flag - but as it was a red flag, the moment was lost!
Hope you've enjoyed my pictures this season as much as I've enjoyed taking them and sharing them with you. Roll on Brands Hatch!

....and finally,
I sneaked this shot of two of the hardest working people in BTCC taking a well deserved break after the final race at Thruxton -
http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/1578872619/
Alan Hyde, who has kept everyone trackside informed, amused and entertained with his commentaries and Alan Gow, without whom I'm sure we wouldn't have just had such a fantastic season of racing. But the picture just cries out for a caption - so over to you! Post any suggestions here - but PLEASE keep them clean and respectful!

Thanks, it's great walking around on the Saturday, as you can get quite close in the paddock without being surrounded by everyone.

this is a very nooby question but can you just go onto the grid
kezbabybabe
4th Nov 2007, 11:21 PM
I think only if you have a VIP pass. However you could walk around the Paddock (The area behind the grid and Pitlane) this is were they service the vehicles before bringing them on to the track.
Some of the more frequent visitors would be able to answer your question better.
1.9 TDI

yeah i always take a look round the paddock but never the grid. But judging by the photos it must be somehow possible.

5th Nov 2007, 01:04 AM
To gain access to the grid, you would have to be Media, VIP, Team personel or Access all areas... correct me if im wrong!
Marc W
5th Nov 2007, 11:10 AM
Correct. Although the paddock VIP pass on it's own will not get you onto the grid.

Of course some people are able to "get" on the grid by taking photos with a really long zoom lens :p

it;s quite difficult to get 'the action' as you put it because the cars move so fast!!!!!!
when i went to oulton the camera was taking ages to take pics because it needed batteries and i ended up getting a pic of the doctors car instaed of the racers!!!!
