Hey Thompp, they are fab pics - - love the one of Matt Neal and his broken off wing mirror ... how did that happen do you know? well obviously he's clipped something but what is what am wanting the answer to?

The other pics you've uploaded are great too ... good ones of Fiona on there ... well done!

he clipped the soft barriers on the inside of the chicane. Given the position of those soft barriers, I'm surprised there was so little contact with them over the course of the weekend.

This is going to sound silly but you know the snetterton offical photographers; where do their photographs end up a sthe MSV site does 2005 only which suck I was in a few of them sunday. Does anyone have any suggestions?

Snett was awesome yesterday tho specially John George taking a short cut across the grass two laps in a row!!

Race 1 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157601095907244/detail/)
Race 2 (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157601098246017/detail/)

Pits & People (http://www.flickr.com/photos/brooklands78/sets/72157601096129938/detail/)

As you will see, I was up by the grid for the start of race 2 - but my shots of the Stockton/Leggate crash were lost as my state-of-the-art computerised camera, which claims to detect whether I'm taking action or scenery, thought I was still taking nice shots of the grid, so set itself to 125th sec.! I won't ever trust it again and will use manual settings in future!

Superb piccies, Brooklands, you can just feel the quality...! I never trust shutter speed to the camera...I usually shoot action on shutter priority, very occasionally use manual when I want to let more light in or blend the background out more.

Mind you, I wasnt overimpressed with my piccies from Snetterton:
1) lots of dust and cr4p on the camera sensor / lens even though I clean it during the week. I gave it a good clean on Saturday night and still had dust on it come Sunday 8(
2) still struggling to get levels correct
3) need to improve sharpness

Brooklands, do you always try and shoot with the sun behind you..?

Brooklands, do you always try and shoot with the sun behind you..?
Yes, except at Donington last time out!!! :D At Snett, I planned to go to the Chicane for the first race, as the sun is directly into your lens for the later races. Snett also allows you to get close-ups of the grid, so for race 2 the sun was just right - but I think that I should have walked back round to the exit of the Esses once the race began as it's closer to the action. Last race, it was the inside of the Esses but you don't get any head-on shots from there so, although the sun is bang on, the pics tend to be a bit more "static". As for sharpness, I always find it difficult to keep a 300mm lens steady when fully extended, even with a monopod - but I found (quite by accident, on the bank at the Thruxton chicane this year) that I get sharper shots by supporting the bottom of the monopod in my belt, rather than extending it down to the ground! It also helps when panning as you can move much more freely.

Brooklands do you mind If I take the photos of the Team halfords girls (Tillie and Paige) to show them to Tillie and Paige?
Don't mind at all - but I'm sure they've seen thousands of pics of themselves!

We live near the Holiday Inn and my missus goes swimming there regularly. Although she's not interested in motorsport, she was there Friday night and the youngsters at team RAC were trying to chat her up. When she told then she was old enough to be their mother they just laughed! :D :D
