Kelvin Burt is putting his backing to a charity karting challenge organised by Alan Strachan - his former chief mechanic at Ford / Rouse Sport. Kelvin is expected to appear in at least one of the charity challenge rounds - most likely at Rissington on the 3rd of August.

The purpose of this multi-round charity event is to raise money for four children's charities including the NSPCC and Great Ormond Street Hospital. The challenge will run alongside the UK Clubmans series.

It is all for a good cause so why not get involved? Perhaps by sponsoring a driver for one of the events - or more specifically, Kelvin at the Rissington round. It is somewhere in Oxfordshire so should be easy to get to if you want to go along and lend some support. Ideas for contributions, anyone?

If you are interested, get in touch with me and I'll provide the apropriate contact details.

Having grown up near there I can tell you that this circuit is at Little Rissington, Gloucestershire. It is off the A424 between Burford and Stow-on-the-Wold.

It is an ex-airfield but is well known as a karting circuit now.

Hope this helps.

Sounds good Reynard, give us details next time we see you.:)

Just checked my motorsport spreadsheet. We are at Rockingham on 3rd August for SEAT Cupra Championship.

Well, shows how lousy my UK geography is... It's amazing I can actually drive myself to race meetings at all.

Shame either of you can't go (not sure yet what I'm up to that weekend) but either way, I will be sponsoring Kelvin for that particular round whatever happens.

There is a small incentive for those interested in going - Kelvin will be signing photographs on the day, and those photographs have been taken by yours truly :D So if you all want to get your paws on something unique, then there's a chance!

Would anyone else on this forum be interested in sponsoring Kelvin in the race that he will be taking part in? As he's only doing the one round, it would be pointless contributing money per point scored (pun intended) so the primary option is just to have a whip round.

If you want to contribute in any way, let us know.
