Okay, I haven't the foggiest who Reynards current one is. I think it's John Cleland, but not sure.
However, I have been able to dig up a couple of other images that i MIGHT be able to stump some of you with.
Usual info please.
Who is the driver?
Where is he/she racing?
What car is it? (Bonus point for type specific!)
When was it?

I don't believe it, I CAN'T have stumped you with this one, surely?
Don't forget, there is a BTCC link involved... if that helps...

This is a difficult one.
As to when and who I have not got a clue, but it's an F3 car at Knockhill I think. As to which F3 car I do not know.

The problem is the pics are so small you cant really see very well (not having a go cos I know the size and quality is limited by the admin) so thats my excuse!! ;)

The colours look like Fortec Motorsport, and its definately a Formula Renault.
For a opening stab:
Thomas Erdos
Fortec Swift FR92 Renault
Mallory Park
1992
Reynard

WHO: Thomas Erdos
WHAT: Swift FR90
WHERE: Oulton Park
WHEN: 1990
However, he may have driven in the 1991 European (?) round at Oulton Park - I have a funny feeling that he's the one that tipped Jason Plato into a barrel roll at the Shell Hairpin...

Having checked this out further, I'd agree with Reynard on all except the circuit. My info doesn't list an Oulton Park race. There was one at Knockhill though...
I think it was BV-R that rolled Jason Plato out at Oulton in 91. The two niggled at each other all year. The finale at Thruxton was as rough a single seater race as you'll ever see - Plato at his hard nosed best!

I'm hopeless at circuits, but good at sorting cars out... That could be anywhere! ;) But I have found at least one round at Oulton in 1990 so that could be an option.
Heh!:D I've actually got a video clip of that on my laptop *giggle*
It's not easy to see from the clip whether it is Bobby or someone else as the quality isn't too good, BUT the car looks very much like Tommy Erdos' car in the picture at the start of this thread.

Reynard is the closest so far, but no one has yet given me all the info in the same answer!
With regards to the Plato roll at Oulton Park, it was Bobby Verdon-Roe that tipped him over, although it wasn't deliberate, not Thomas Erdos. It was round one too, and Stuart is right, they were nothing short of at each others throats all year long after that!

Done a little bit of research...
WHO: Thomas Erdos
WHAT: Swift FR90 (1700cc engine)
WHERE: Mallory Park
WHEN: 1990
Had a look at a map of Mallory and it all fits with the clues in the picture - you have the bridge crossing the track behind the grid and the paddock on the other side of the barrier alongside the start-finish straight.
If anyone wants the clip of Jay vs B-VR, just give me a shout. It is a bit of a giggle.
As for Jason at his hard-nosed best; you should have seen him put Stevie Hodgson on the grass at 170 mph at Lausitz last year... :D

You're close Reynard, but... its the wrong circuit.
I thought the track would be the hardest part actually as the photo was taken quite a while ago. So, the clue is, the track has changed in that period of time...
Floor is still open...:D

euhm.... There's only one other track that I can think of that has / had the potential to look like that around the grid area....
Particularly if it is the track layout that has changed considerably.
WHO: Thomas Erdos
WHAT: Swift FR90
WHERE: Silverstone
WHEN: 1990

Am I right in assuming the area behind the barriers is the pits. If thats the case there are not many circuits where the pit lane is on the LHS of the starting grid (assuming the car is on the grid).
Theres Donington, Croft, Knockhill,
And on that principle cant be Brands, Silverstone, Oulton, Snetterton ,Pembury, Thruxton
(Have I missed any??)
Its not likely to be Croft, if its 1990 its probably not Knockhill, so I will say Donington.
Dunno if thats logical or not but thats my guess!! ;)

I don't believe this, you are all just missing!
Reynard, wrong circuit!
John, good system, but also wrong circuit. But its on your list!
Sorry Reynard, its not Track layout that has altered as such, but the layout of sections. (is that confusing?)
See John's post for a better hint.;)

All the circuits are on my list!! Do you mean on my list of 3 which I think it could be? or on the other list?!
I'll try Knockhill then
WHO: Thomas Erdos
WHAT: Swift FR90
WHERE: Knockhill
WHEN: 1990

I thought it wasn't Donny - there the barriers are blue & white.
Just proves I'm lousy with circuits.. :)
I'm inclined to say croft then as they did some major changes to it before BTCC went there

At last!
Sorry Reynard, John beat you to it.
The correct answers are.
Thomas Erdos
Swift Renault FR90
1990
Knockhill Circuit
The picture was taken before they levelled the paddock off and put the new pitwall in place. I hadn't been there since until 2001 for the GT's and I was amazed at the difference!
I have another picture that I'll post up later tonight, although I want different answers for that though!

Yeah, well ;)
John goes to Knockhill on a regular basis so he's got an excuse... I don't venture further north than Rockingham!
Like I said, I know more about the cars and drivers than the circuits, so that just about proves the fact.
*sigh*
The only one I got completely right was the Snetterton one as that's my local circuit and am very familiar with the colour of the mud :D

Lucky guess!! Go to Croft more and didnt think it was that so by process of elimination was Knockhill (or somewhere totally different!!)
First time I went to KH was 1999 so quite a while after those changes I assume?

*lol*
The creaking noise you hear is me putting my foot in my mouth! :) Even so, you're more familiar with those circuits than I am, John...
I didn't think it was any of the circuits I go to on a regularish basis i.e. Snetterton, Brands and Rockingham (which didn't exist then). I've also infrequently been to Donington and Silverstone but the honest answer is that i was completely stumped.
