Great news for me! Usually I have to work Saturdays which means I don't get to races other than the ones I can drive to on race day. However, I've managed to swing a weekend off so I've choosen Oulton! So....... where's the best place to view????? also, is there any trackside camping like at Snetterton? Any comments or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. ( The other half chose Oulton, personally I would have choosen Donny, so any comments on that would spark a bit of marital conflict!!!!!!!)

camping is inside lodge corner, pretty basic with portaloos etc, you can use the showers in the paddock if the gestapo (sorry secirity) leave the gate open
as for viewing I like cascades on the inside

i have only been to oulton once but at all costs avoid the ladyman that patrols the gat when you try to cross from the infield to the outside of the track......i know i keep posting this everytime pulton is mentioned but she ruined my weekend. i know a few other people on this forum know who i am talking about and i know that it was her choice not to let anyone across the track because was talking to one of the bigwigs at oulton and he said that the situation was a shambles and spectators should have been let across during races and that there was nothing stopping her from letting us across.
sorry if i have offended anyone with this post but i feel very strongly about this as her manner and general way of addressing the fans was damn right rude. there rant over....oulton needs a bridge.

Thats only near The Avenue or at Lodge. The "Unknown" bridge as its being called at the minute due to no sponsorship on it thats on Clay Hill is a crossing at all times. Use it to get good pics from the outside of cars coming down The Avenvue into Dentons and round Cascades. Where as the inside of Cascades is good for pics arounds cascades its self and Hislops Chicane (as they now want it know). Dont wanna give to much away as I want some quiet spots in June.

I usually work Sundays but I've managed to get it off so I can go and watch. :D
If you want to watch the cars for as long as possible, watch from Cascades or Knickerbrook. But if you want to see the cars at there limit I'd watch from Lodge or Druids. Rear wheel drive cars usually get a little tail happy through Druids, which is very impressive to watch at 100mph+

Just to remind those that are camping - please keep to the "no noise after 11pm" rule, there may be Marshal's nearby that *need* sleep to perform their duties the following day.
Thanks!

You're not the only one! Not only would this person not let us across the track to where our car was parked, they also sent us in completely the wrong direction when we asked for an alternative route! This year, we'll use the main entrance and NOT cross the track!

The crossing staff are told when the track is clear by radio, it's not their decision whether or not to risk your life.
You have three crossing places, avenue, lodge, and this is the one people forget, go out the exit at lodge or warwick bridge and it's a v short walk to the other, just ensure you have your ticket stub.

this person was given the ok to let us across the track on her radio. i know as i was standing at the front for a long while before getting bored and walking off in a strop. her excuse was that the crowd was to rowdy and that there was only time for four people who were being very quite to get across.
i actually spoke to some bigwig at oulton(i forget his name) who agreed we should have been let across the track. i was not impressed and neither was he:mad:

You must have been standing near me, then, cos I heard her say that as well! Still don't know why she chose to give me totally incorrect directions for an alternative route, though!
