Alan,

what would happen in the following situations:

1. A driver goes to the wrong gridslot after a green flag lap
2. 2 race cars collided in the pitlane, exiting for qualifying?

Thank you for signing my programme at Thruxton as well.

1. He/she would normally receive a 'drive through penalty' for starting out of position. But if, by taking up the wrong grid position, he/she compromises other cars from taking up their proper position then the start would be delayed to give time to sort it out (however the offending driver would still have to do a drive through penalty once the race has started).

2. The offender would get a penalty (the type of penalty depends on the situation).

3. My pleasure.
