Not to be negative, but I was wondering if this hype of the live coverge will br worth. I was watching the ETCC covergae yeaterday whic was supposed to be massively improved, but it was abosolute rubbish. The guy was talking about other things than the actuall race. The cameras were just picking up the leaders, and I hardly ever saw the groovy looking seats, and Rydell.

I'm hoping in vain that the Motors TV coverage won't be such a disapointment

The MotorsTV coverage is using the Granda 'feed' that is used to produce the ITV highlights programme.

The commentators are Ben Edwards and Tim Harvey with Vicky Butler-Henderson in the pit-lane.

Race day live coverage will start from BTCC race 1 (or just before) and run until the final race of the day.

Hopefully it will be good...

The BTCC is a much more competitive championship than the ETCC, which can be very processional - having the first race at Barcelona, didn't do them any favours either.

I don't think there will be anything to worry about from the MotorsTV coverage - The ITV coverage was excellent last year, and it is the same people making both.

I think it will be good, especially as we should be getting the support races between the two BTCC ones too. I can't wait!

The motors tv commintator Carlton Kirby Kills any race he is covering. He ruined the first ETCC race and doesnt have a clue about instinctive commintating (Not that i could do better but...). Just as long as he doesnt do it i will be happy.

Wasn't it Martin Haven commentating on the ETCC? He was certainly doing the FIA GT and I'd be very surprised if Eurosport had both of them worknig on it?

Anyway, whoever it was, Motors are using the Granada Sport team for the BTCC, so we won't have that problem.

Last year, the live feed that was produced (available to all teams and press at the circuits) was very good, a marked improvement on what used to be put up on the giant video screens. If the same people are doing it this year it should be good.

What I would say though is that this is a big thing to do - you'll have about 4 or 5 hours of straight coverage, and there are bound to be some teething problems. Don't expect the earth at the first meeting, but if it's good from the start then it should be very good by the end of the year.

Can't fault the chosen commentary team.

it should be good, i'm really looking forward to it.
they've got an excellent commentary team in ben edwards, tim harvey and vicky butler-henderson.
i'm hoping tim will be a bit contraversial.

I am very excited about the Motors tv. It is about time we had live coverage and it is very good news that we have Ben and Tim. You will not believe what Ben sounds like during a live broadcast- Try and find a copy of the 2000 Michigan 500 and you will know what I mean!

By the way, has anyone seen that there is a profile of James Thompson on Motors tv at midnight on sunday?

Carlton Kirby commentated on the highlights of the 1st race and handed over to Martin for the 2nd.
