This would explain why they were not on the entry list published on the 2nd:

Team Macmillan have revealed that they will miss the start of the 2003 British Touring Car Championship season, which starts on April 21st, as they have still to secure title sponsors.

Malcolm Cleland, Director of CMS Motorsport Ltd / Team Macmillian is however confident that they will be on track for round four at Silverstone on June 8th - and it might even be with two cars.

Speaking yesterday at the BTCC media day, he explained: "The team is expected to secure the title sponsors over the next few weeks enabling us to join the championship in June at Silverstone.

"Although missing the start of the season is not ideal, we are looking forward to getting on with the project and establishing the team on the track. Our negotiations with a title sponsor fell through last month and we have been hard at work to put together a suitable package for other potential sponsors.

"The car will not run until we have a comprehensive budget in place. We have such a strong package in place it would be a shame to jeopardise it for the sake of a few races."

He added: "We are looking to run a second car alongside existing driver Nick Leason and already have the infrastructure in place. We are currently in talks with the management team of a former F3/FIA GT driver who is interested in joining Team Macmillan in a second car.

"We have set ourselves a two-week time frame in which to either get the second driver in place or move on with the original one car entry."

This looks familiar! :(

Mardi Gras and that university team said that last year and they never turned up! Lets hope this team does!

they will!

This is no 'here one minute and gone the next' sort of deal and I expecting that once they start then they will go from strength to strength.
