Micky Doyle and Alan Taylor are racing at Spa this weekend in the Italian Clio Cup and Micky has qualified 2nd which is brilliant for his first ever visit there.

And I mustn't forget Nick Adcock - on pole in the radicals and Fiona Leggate in the Britcar

Sadly Fiona's car failed to finish, ending her unbroken run of class wins this season:(

Heard yesterday that Doyle had his win taken off him, although Renault had said that all was ok with his engine/car, it was found after that a seal was missing which is required for the Italian Championship.

Doyle should be concentrating on the UK championship. I'm not suprised he was first over the line with the quality of drivers out there. He deserved to be stripped of the win for trying to show off, serves him right.

So you are accusing the robertshaw racing boys of cheating. The standard of driving is the same. the italian series is just as competitive. He lost the win due to a mix up with renault sport italia who run with an extra engine seal that the uk cars dont. He had no advantage and the renault sport italia official were very embarrassed as they declared the car legal and did allow him to keep the money, tropheys etc.

I suggest before u start accusing him of cheating is that you get your facts correct.

I didnt say he cheated or Robertshaw Racing for that matter. Didnt mention cheating or Robertshaw at all! I said he deserves to be stripped of the win for trying to show off. Read the post properly.

I just feel he should concentrate on beating the likes of Hodgetts, Pead, Lawson and Winrow before he trys doing any Italian rounds. And the Italian championship IS poor.

Yeah renault sport italia messed up but shouldnt the team have read the rules of the event themselves and realised that the seals were different in italy!!

that is what scruntineering is for - to find these things... if they had done their job correctly then the disqualification would never have happened.

As for your other comments.... he can race that car whenever and where ever he likes.... every bit of practice is good practice and getting a win certainly boosts the confidence.

Lets see if he can get another win this season then, against proper competition.... seeing as he has all this valuable practice. At least he hasnt thrown it into the gravel in qualifying again like he did at Brands! :D

wTF is your problem with Mickey, for a young lad without loads of backing he has done well and matured as a driver. one thing that gets right on my tits is folk on forums that slate other drivers, I might not like other drivers because they are rivals but still respect them

Sorry if my comments have upset anyone.
I just feel it was a waste of time going all that way when IMHO Micky needs to concentrate on wining races in the UK championship, thats all.
