Is there going to be Forum commentary for 2003, as it sort of died off at the end of 2002.

Live TV feed on the net would be a good idea but I think it would be ------- Expensive and you'd need broadband to watch it properly, not to mention the amount of bandwith it would take up on TOCAs servers.

That is hard to believe that a major sport like that didn't have live TV ???

From 1997-2000 we got a few of the race weekends each year televised live.
As everyone here in the UK knows, 2001 was a disgrace(that's another discussion).
This year is the first time ever the BTCC has had live coverage all year, and for the support races too.

the trouble is that uk television companies don't consider the btcc to be a major sport.

It does seem a bit silly that we have to rely on a french channel to get live coverage of our own series. Still, I'd rather watch it on there than not at all.

It's silly though, that a leading British Championship, if not THE leading championship is not recognised by our TV Companies!

the btcc is the uk's premier motor racing series.
theres no reason why itv couldn't show the races live, i mean theres nothing good on itv on a sunday is there?

Motorsport is one of the few sports the British still excel at. Look at F1, almost all the teams are based in England, despite it being a global sport. We have some great Touring Car drivers, and some quality rally ones. Even some of the drivers in the support championships that do it for fun a pretty good. It deserves better coverage.

That's a bit unfair as it is a British company, Granada, who came up with the concept for TocaTV and who will be producing it for MotorsTV (and for any other broadcaster who wants/can afford to take it live).
They did very well in their first season with TOCA last year - you only have to look at the mess Octagon made of the season review video to see how far things had improved - and what has been talked about for this year shows they are not afraid to take risks and innovate.

yes and i thank granada for all their hard work, but the dtm is broadcast live by a german tv company, the same goes for aussiev8's so why couldn't granada?
if they did show the races live on terrestrial tv i'm sure the popularity of the btcc would increase massively.
if the bbc could do it i'm sure granada could.
