Well ive just read that people on Virgin Medias XL package will get it for free because of the package being ?38.50 and this has got me rather annoyed because ive got Sky HD with the full package which in total costs us ?55 per month i mean shouldnt people with Sky's full package get it free aswell.

What about people who live in uncabled areas? It's even more annoying as Nynex actually cabled the area I live in just before they went bust, but no one ever connected the cables, so I do not have the choice of Virgin for anything. (Mind you, I wouldn't have Virgin anyway, but it would be nice to have to chance)

You'll probably find that this isn't a Setanta decision - it's much more likely that Virgin have decided to include the channels in their XL package as part of the ongoing battle with Sky. Presumably they pay Setanta for the channel, it's then up to them how they supply it. It's also a way for them to tempt more people onto the XL package - if I didn't already have it, I'd be considering upgrading.

It's up to Sky how they respond really, if you want to complain to someone then tell them you're not happy and see what they say.

I reckon that Sky should allow it for free as well. Just another desperate attempt for Virgin Media, to win new customers. In my Oppinion

Why on earth would Sky want to show the channels of a rival company for free ?

Is it stating the obvious that a/ they're 2 different companies and b/ they both sell a sports channel package for around ?15 per month ?

I know the feeling. Also paying ?53 + ?15 for setanta. But like others have said, its not Setata's fault. Its sky's. Do what im going to do, cancel your skysports subscription. Theres always other ways to watch football ;)

But cancelling the SkySports channels isnt gonna make justice to the extra ?9.99 of Setanta

Sky and Virgin Media have been having a ***-for-tat battle with each other since they deal for Sky1 etc fell through.

With the football season almost upon us it wouldn't suprise me if Sky followed suit. It's a clear move by VM to try and drag customers from Sky for the football season.
