Am I right in thinking the use of PMs to advertise another forum would be frowned upon by admin?

I have had two Private Messages advertising another forum,
any one else being bothered?

Nothing here Kelvin - but I agree with you. I don't think admin would approve of the use of the pm system for what sounds like unsolicited approaches about websites or any other product or service.

I've just had a PM advertising another forum. I won't post the members name here...

I would call it spam and thus a misuse of the system.

Could you folk kindly pm me and let me know who is sending you these communications please, and we will get it sorted out.

Thanks very much.

Its not very good etiquette to use one 'BTCC' forums PM facility and email database to blatantly promote a rival site! I replied to the offender and got a rather less than polite response in return.

Hence the complaint to admin!

I was the recipient of unwanted/welcome pm in this fashion too. Thought initially it was a wind-up and ignored it, then got a second similar, and reported them straight to moderator. That was a few weeks ago now.

We do not permit promotions on the TOCATour forums in any form, including PM's. So please respect the forum and its users by not using the PM facility to promote/advertise other sites.
