I watched the DTM from Spain last night on Motors and i think the way the Mercedes driver were driving was appauling. Especially Le Rosa when he took out Ekstrom on purpose. If anything Mercedes should have been dq'ed completely from that race seeing as it was enough for Audi to pull out of the race completely.

but the DTM cars arent as robust as other forms of motorsport and you could tell that the Mercedes drivers were doing it out of complete ignorance to the rules

Serves Audi right in my mind for what they have been doing all Year. DTM and Aussie V8's are quick cars but cant handle a little contact which makes them useless.

Aussie V8s can take a battering, they seem pretty tough really.
It's just the silly amout of developement which goes into DTM which makes the cars so ridiculously fragile, really it just gives a bit more speed and grip at the expense of entertainment.

Its very German when you think about it. The pursuit of technological perfection over almost everything else.
