Hi, I know it may be a little early to say, but will BTCC be shown on setanta in 2008? I only ask this because we are considering getting Setanta on freeview in my house, and don't want to go and buy the box only to find out it will not be shown next year.
Also does anyone know if it is shown on setanta 1, or is it setanta 2? because I'm less liekyl to want to buy it if its shown on S2 half of the time
And please no complaining about the price, I'm well aware it only costs ?10 a month

Hi cx666, I have to be honest and say I have no idea whether the BTCC will be shown on Setanta for the 2008 season...I have plans to wait til at least round February time until it is confirmed, which may be earlier or later...but I won't be subscribing until I know as it will be the only thing I'll be watching on it!
But it is up to you...if you'll be watching other sport on it then, I'd say go for it!

There is no minimum contract. As long as you give 30 days notice you can cancel at any time.

I thought ITV were showing this weekends racing, on ITV4 and ITV3 I think.
As long as you have freeview there is no extra charge

Just a word of warning regarding setanta via freeview.
You need a box with a card slot, even then it needs to be a specific type of box as most are incompatable.
Even then setanta via freeview only starts at midday everyday where as if you get it via cable or satelite it's 24-7.
Oh yeah and it's live on itv4 from 12.30 this sunday switching to itv1 for the final race plus the usual re-runs of 1 and 2.

Not quite: ITV4 then ITV1.
See this link http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=743&month=0&year=2007&form=&searchterm=
Plus you can always view the transmission times in the TV timetable in the Calendar section of this site.
Thanks

Think you will find that Setanta show the whole day. Like Motors last year. So you get to see the support races too.
ITV only show the BTCC on Sunday then show some of the other races in the small hours.

I e-mailed Setanta over the lack of 24-7 via freeview and they said it's due to channel sharing that they can only transmit on freeview between those times.
They share the frequency with some shopping rubbish !!

well am not bothering with setanta for tomorrow now...sticking to ITV! rang setanta and it is going to cost me for 2 months as this is the minimum plus a one off connection charge of ?10 so it's going to cost be about ?30-40 for the sake of 6hrs cos the BTCC was the only thing i wanted it for...what a damn swindle...they never say this in their adverts do they!

I'm not sure you've noticed this, but on the Main Headlines section, ITV are apparentley letting viewers watch the races online for free. That's what i've seen, but i could be wrong

If you want to watch all of the support races etc next year, and assuming its still on Setanta, the best thing to do is get FreeSat - basically, ?150 for a satellite dish, and a sky box but no contract. Then you subscribe to Setanta, and you have 8 channels!!! ;)

oh thanks for that MB1...I'll bear that in mind! I've already got Sky though so what i was going to do was subscribe to setanta from march til oct which is 8 months, so ?80 in all and then in oct give my 30 days cancellation notice and it'll will end in nov
