Has anyone got any advice on where's best to watch the race from?

I think this is quite a difficult one to answer. Paddock hill's normally a good place, but it's apparently been changed this year which may compromise the view. As well as that the best places will fill up fast, so you might have to choose by what's not full.

Its going o be crowded, so I would say from the front!!:D
I like it up towards Druids, you can see them come round
and down Paddock Hill, then charge up towards Druids!

I'll probably be watching from the apex of Druids, and if I get there early enough I'll try and watch from the inside.

my advice - get there early, walk round the track, find a good spot and sit there for the duration! I reckon if you move you won't get it back.

That's what I plan to do as well. Find a decent spot early on and camp there for the day. Either Druids or Paddock hill depending on much further back we are.

I am attending the event on the Sunday and Monday- I think going all three days can sometimes make you bored come the race.
I have a grandstand on Monday in front of the Foulston centre, however I may choose to watch the CART warm up from the start/finish straight, so I can admire the cars at top speed and hear that engine note!
As for qualifying, you would probably do well to walk around the track a lot that day and almost use it as a rehearsal for Monday- find which spot you like best.

Octagon have mangaged to put FIA standard high catch fencing around the circuit BTW, and in some places it is double :( . Good for saftey, not good for photos and spectating.

Is it possible to use the pedestrian bridge approaching Druids and view the action from the inside of the hairpin ? Presumably the stewards lock the gates shortly before races commence ?

The access across the footbridge seems to vary from one meeting to another at Brands. Every time I go, I don't know what to expect. Sometimes it's been locked all day, sometimes it's unlocked with free access at all times...
Pot luck! :)

No it's not possible... the bridge has had to be removed after being dislodged by the 'Powertour' truck on Thursday.

Ooops! I hope nobody was on it at the time.

Cheers Craig, that's eliminated one vantage point I was considering. Might settle for the exit of Druids now, at least I might be able to scarper uner the trees between races. Anyone got any news on the changes at Paddock Hill Bend or F1 style higher catch fencing, which might preclude photo opportunities and spectacting pleasure ?

New catch fencing IS higher, that's the idea (!), but it's not THAT bad like some make out... especially at Paddock Bend where you can still shoot over the top of the fencing. There are also a lot of other potential photo spots - an example is at the top of Paddock Hill next to the ambulance gate - looking DOWN the hill.
If you ask me these more unusal shots are much more effective than the stock panning shot or head on - once you've seen one you've seen them all.
However, if the crowds do turn out on Monday, then you're probably gonna struggle for photos anyway - new fence or no. Just sit back and enjoy the spectacle!

for me the best place to watch is from the top of paddock because you can see 3 quaters of the track from there.
