Sorry Folks bad news on the Thommo front. On the WTCC website he says he has no plans to return to BTCC at all inthe near future.

What a loss. I'm Gutted.

would have been good to see him try. it is a shame to lose him but he has done soooo well in WTCC it isnt really a suprise that he is staying there. he has won two titles at BTCC, would be good to see him win that.

Well if you think about it this year he has come 3rd in a very old car so if he gets a brand new Honda Accord for next year then just imagine what he'll be able to do in that

In my opioion and dont jump down my Throat I think the WTCC is more competative so cannot blame him. I still love the Btcc though:) :)

I support both series, world and British, I just guess my heart belongs to the BTCC.

I know I was clutching at straws to see him back with 'us'.

Whilst it would be Great to see old Thommo in BTCC again one day i want him to stay in the WTCC.

I have to admit i was supporting him over Priaulx in the last Race at Macau.

when he went to the wtcc in 2005, i thought he would never return to the btcc but we lucky he did at least a few races in 2006!
you never know, look at menu, he did a one off race after 7years! :)

im split there.

for action, spills etc - BTCC wins.

however - for 6 way battles for the titles, driver ability (Priaulx, Muller, Menu, Thommo) - WTCC wins.

not taking away the ability of any BTCC driver, coz there is a fair number who could rattle some cages...

Jackson, Turkington, Allison, Jones, Shedden, Plato, Neal, Chilton - but then, to me, Priaulx, Farfus, Y & J MUller, Menu etc could all add spice to the BTCC again

i think the wtcc has now got a degree more credibility than it had when the fia started it, as to which is better racing its hard to call. wtcc goes to some really spectacular venues like macau and the racing there is nose to tail non stop excitement but go to places like monza its all drafting and late braking
btcc at knockhill and brands indy give u the nose to tail thrills

top drivers want to be in the top class so wtcc is the place to be and thommo is undoubably in the top class so a cold knockhill in september or the balm heat of japan its no contest

the wtcc does need to sort out it specs rules and balast so that its at least clear to the fans why and who is carrying weight and it would be nice it one or two other manufactures would join in so that the current 5 and 6 car works teams wouldnt have it all there own way

well i would like to see tommo back again to do a full season he brings so much to each race but like other people have said hes done his bit for the btcc we should be thankfull for him for that, i hope he gets a wtcc title to add to his list of achievments.
