Force India launched their 2008 season in style on Thursday, unveiling their challenger at an official ceremony in Mumbai. The new car - a revised version of the 2007 Spyker - has been named the VJM01.
The event that took place on Mumbai's glamorous waterfront at the historic Gateway of India monument, gave the assembled guests the first glimpse of the car's striking new gold, tungsten and white livery.

Incumbent driver Adrian Sutil, who drove for the former Spyker team last season, was present at the launch, alongside new team mate Giancarlo Fisichella and third driver Vitantonio Liuzzi.
The VJM01 will make its track debut later this month during testing in Spain. The maiden run is expected to take place at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya on February 25.

Team Boss and CEO of sponsor Kingfisher said, “I am sure that Force India will make a steady progress to our stated dream of seeing one of our drivers on the podium in 2010 at the first Indian Grand Prix.”

Bernie Ecclestone was not present at the launch, but he did leave a message saying 'Sorry I can’t be with you for your launch of Force India, which I know will be a successful team and is welcomed by everyone into Formula One,” the message read. “As you become a successful team you will make some enemies but I will always be your friend'
