Incentives/sweetners?

Hi Alan,

I know everyone bangs on about manufacturers and how important they are etc. Whilst i don't necessarily think that manufacturers are indicitive of good racing or a good championship, i just wondered if there are any incentives you give to manufacturers to get them into the championship, or indeed any sweetners you give to current manufacturers to keep them in the championship.

Thankyou for some great racing over the years. I hope it continues and best of luck in the coming season.

No....it has always been my firm policy to never do 'special' deals or arrangements with any manufacturers or teams.

Every manufacturer or team gets treated in exactly the same way and complies with exactly the same requirements and regulations. And by doing that, it also gives them the confidence of knowing that every other entrant in the championship is treated in exactly the same way as themselves and removes any suspicion of favouritism.

Once any championship starts giving 'special treatment' to an individual manufacturer or team, then it is the start of a very slippery slope - as we have seen with other series.
