Yup its even on the BBC site now. This is fantastic news and maybe the Chain will be reinstated as the intro music.
And hopefully they will coax muddly talker back to do some behind the scenes stuff rather then the commentary, although I do love his commentary.
Ahhh the memorys of mansell taking his hat off to show a bump and Murray poking it.

I know, it just fitted sooooooo well.

F1 moving back to the Beeb should be a good move. No more ad breaks! I do hope that at the very least that they keep Martin Brundle on. I do think having a ex driver in the commentary box works well and has done since Murray and James Hunt teamed up.

I'd love Murray to come back even for the odd guest appearance at say the British GP.

they can get rid of louise and ted though- their hearts are not in it and they arent passionate enough about it!!!!!

Louise Goodman doesn't have her heart in it? You've got to be joking! Now Ted I can agree with, But Louise knows more about motorsport than most people on here, she's being reporting on motorsport for years, all formulas. She's done grassroots m.sports as well as the big stuff. And after her husband died a few years ago msport has become her life,

Also I think she's hot. ;)

Great news i hope they didn't get it because they offered Tamara Ecclestone the main presenters job Le t hope they Keep Martin and bin Mark he ont even speak english proper. I loved Murray Walker but its time to find someone new that's as much on the ball as he was enthusiastic about the sport. HD F1 i just can't wait hope they go digital with multi screens Cool

Good Riddance, No more Ads during the Race :D

Keep Brundle, Murray Walker is so Overrated, Would keep misnaming Drivers and telling people he will stop the Startwatch etc.

I wonder if this Means 09 Btcc Meetings can now clash with F1's?, Unless ofcourse they too return to the BBC.

you did not just say murray is overated???????????- his mistakes are what gives him his charm and why he was commentating on the f1 for 53 years!!!

he is really getting on a bit now though- i wish the commentary team could be martin and murray- they make for the perfect team

The BTCC won't be going anywhere for the next 4(?)years with the new contract that was signed recently with ITV.

bit of a shame really. dont get me wrong its brill its all live on itv4 this year, but i have always thought that the beeb did a top job, better in car cameras and more of them!, charlie cox nearly wetting himself when something happens, and the general way the show was put together. even though the down side was it was always on a week after the meeting took place.
ideal world, the best bits from both should combine!!!:D

I know we didnt get to hear this much, But the best saying was:
"There is nothing wrong with thar car, Except its on fire"

And BringBack mate, That would be awesome if they did indeed give the job to Hammond, But I cant help but think will he try and run down to the grid, Ask the Renault team can he try out the car and never get it moving :p :p :p :p :p

Great news to see F1 returning to bbc. Richard Hammond would be an interesting choice to host it. No one can be worse than Steve Rider who knows absolutely nothing about F1. Murray Walker won't return as he has retired. Remember he used to commentate when it first switched to itv, ie he is not contracted to the bbc and the switch will have no affect on his career status.

it's the times- which are quite a credible paper.

anyway, they should have richard and mark blundell doing the presenting and technical insights- (richard knows his share about cars)- and keep martin brundle and james allen as the commentary team- they can get rid of ted and louise thoguh.

one other thing i have thought of is that because it is changing channel and production company- the cameramen and editing team for all the films would be different- that's bound to cause trouble cos everyone is used to it.

what makes it even worse is that steve rider ONLY moved to itv to do the f1- now he will lose his job!!!!!!

laurat

His commentry is priceless, and its always heaps useful to have an ex-driver on board. ;) And i hope Louise stays too...and of course she's passionate about Formula One!! Miles better than Ted Kravitz...i can't stand that guy! He asks the world's most stupid questions! :( And i hope Mark continues aswell...i've met him, and he's a lovely guy. i think richard will be good to a point, but sometimes since his accident i have noticed him being a bit scatty (more than he usually was)
but no more adverts is fantastic - and saying as we have a downstairs toilet, then i dont have far to run!

Am I the only one very annoyed that the BBC has got F1, they've used my TV licence money to buy something that I can watch on terrrestrial anyway. Ok so there won't be ad-breaks, but as BBC will get its coverage from the same local broadcasters as ITV anyway what will be the difference? And they are also planning to spend more of my tv licence money on champions league football, which again , if I liked to watch girly looking blokes falling over, rolling around and pretending to be injured, I already could. Meanwhile the BBcs coverage of good sports such as the Guiness Premiership Rugby is getting worse every year. It has the hi-light rights to the Premiership, where it shows half hour highlights of one match, whenever thay can squeeze it into their schedule, sometimes at 3am! I can follow the French premiership easier on Eurosport than I can our own Leagues!

True but you have to pay for a liscense anyway and I'd rather see the money go into Motorsport than more reality rubbish for the lowest common denominator.

Just a thought, as its lost F1, ITV should seriously consider showing like IRL, ok this season won't be the best, as the Champ Car teams are still learning the cars and ovals, but it has a lot of thing that it could use to rival F1 in the UK, including
Overtaking
Cars that are run equally, only difference is the set-up
Dan Weldon, former champ, and a contender this year
Justin Wilson, took Bourdais seat as Newman/Hass no.1, once he's learnt the new IRL car he'l lead the ex-champcar charge, and could get a few late season wins,
Darren Manning, not with the best team, but excells in getting the best out of bad cars,
Alex Loyd, last years Indy lights (IRLs GP2) champ, doing part season with Ganassi
so thats as many British drivers as F1 then, and realisticly three of them could win races, thats two more than F1.
Then you get Danica Patrick, eye candy that F1 doesn't have!
O, and as his Nascar drive aint working out, don't rule out a fifth Brit, reigning champ Francitti

Yeah I loved the BSB last year and this year promised so much but ITV have a way with getting rid of the good sporting events and keeping the ones no one is interested in such as boxing, darts and the boat race.
