Ive recently read in Autosport about Robertshaw loosing its 20kg it had to carry for using a WTCC-spec engine and not a Btcc-spec one. I didn't know there was any difference in engines, I thought S2000 engines were all the same spec for all the series using S2000 cars. If anyone knos the difference could they tell me please?

it had something to do with the valves I think? They were running the wrong one in the engine.
Have you tried looking at the regs for each series?

The WTCC organisers allow various rule breaks to try and equalise the field and I believe one of these on the Chevrolets relates to the engines meaning they aren't fully to S2000 spec in the WTCC.

Yup!
Apart from Chevrolet already boring out the cylinders to fit the 2.0l capacity, what else did the FIA allow as a dispensation? i know there was a weight break but engine wise i have no idea!

Boring out the cylinders is not a dispensation, it's something openly allowed under S2000 rules as long as you stay under the 2000cc limit.
WTCC allowed the Chevrolet to run with oversized values to compensate for other deficiencies in the engine. BTCC allowed that dispensation to stand as it was cheaper than making them re-develop the engines but initially applied a 20kg penalty to compensate. It's that 20kg penalty that has now been removed.

so this surely means that now with a weight reduction the chevvies will become more competitive. :D

The reduction came in prior to Donington so you should already be seeing the effect.

We did, qualifying on the fringes of the top ten, its a shame Allison has had to drop out though
