I am attending the course for the 1st time on 31st August and was wondering if anyone could suggest where to get the best views of the racing.

I always sit opposite the hospitality in the stands on the start/finish straight. You can see the cars all through the complex and always something happens
Enjoy your day

If I remember right Woodcote grandstands in front of the pitlane entry road.
Or the start finish straight open grandstand next to the woodcote covered stand, you'll see the cars for the most amount of time.

The grandstands at the final complex always allows you to see the most action

it's a crap circuit for spectators compared to most uk ones, but woodcote or luffield grandstands will serve you nicely

Go for the covered seating overlooking the complex, they usually have the big screens there so you get to see all the action. And that's usually where most of the overtaking gets done!

See the homepage for more details - free admission for kids 15 and under, grandstand seat included in admission price (£23.00 per adult if booked in advance).

Poor circuit for spectating - too far back off the action - far better to watch off the TV - if you are going then Luffield complex is probably one of the best
The big TV's in the centre of the circuit do help - but if it is sunny weather - sometimes hard to see
But Silverstone wont be getting my money this year - rather go the extra hundred miles past it and watch at Brands any day

Its good as last few times i have been there in 2005/06 they had a Huge TV by the main grandstands in the complax so you could watch the cars live throu there and down the straight and then you got the TV for the rest of the short lap. and you pick them up just has the come under the bridge for the straight again,
So you get the atomosphire and the TV too :)

Its crap for spectacting cause of it being a Grandprix circuit so you get all the Unnessasary, over the top fenceing so Photos are crap aswell a bit like donny park.(Unless you are a press photographer of course) ;)

At least at Donny you can see a lot of the circuit from one place unlike Silverstone. I must admit the later is not my favourite circuit that I have been to. Bring BTCC to Mallory Park :)

I stoped going to Silverstone years ago just don't like the place, it felt like the fans where an inconvenient addition to the race weekend, and the viewing is not so great...

I think that sums it up rather well.

Silverstone is just over an hours drive away from me, but I too do not like the circuit for spectating, so I'm going to watch it on TV!

The best thing to do is go on the saturday and walk around and find where u enjoy watching from most and then watch from there.
