I was so happy to see John walk away from this, well done to the doctor's and Marshalls.

Ouch! Once again it proves not just the excellent saftey of the cars and the HANS equipement, but also the brilliant work that is carried out by the Marshalls and doctors at every track the BTCC goes to. Hopefully George will be back in the BTCC for next year. That car looks like a right off from what i've seen.

Brands Hatch has supposedly got the best marshalls and stewards in the world
(Thats what was said during one of the support races yesterday)

Hello everyone,
We sat on the South Bank for the first time in 10 years.
Great viewing point from a spectator's point of view, but I don't think it makes for great photography unless you're using a professional camera setup.

When I have attened as media, I often stand in that very spot!!
It looks like he had quite a long lens on the camera, so I think he wont have captured much of the impact as he was too close.

Yeah but if you want to see decent racing you dont sit there, so either you sacrifice a good view of the racing for some nice photos or sacrifice some good photos for a brilliant view of the racing? I just move around on the saturday and take images from all around, where the fences arent in the way and then sit in one place and watch the action on the sunday. I mean after all, if your not a professional photographer, the reason your at the event is to watch the races, not take photos.

It's a steep old camber at Brands - That's why you see so many cars sliding towards the pit wall at the start when the get wheelspin.
I think a few cars have actually nudged the wall on race strats before.
It'll also be nice to try and get a photo that shows that fall after Paddock Hill bend into the dip, to show how much the track falls away, and with the steepness of it too.
On telly, it looks steep, but when you are stood at paddock, it's unbelievable. As Charlie Cox kept saying, it's like jumping of the north face of ther Eiger

Hi mate
i had a quick look at paddock hill bend when i was walking across the track it looks scarey on foot let alone going into the braking point in a car at 100mph !!:)
