Since 2001 I have managed to collect quite a few of the cards that the MG XPower / Atomic Kitten / West Surrey Racing / Team RAC / Kartworld teams have given out during the BTCC Pits Walkabout.
The cards not only cover the 2001-2008 BTCC seasons, but also the Le Mans 24 Hours, Le Mans Series, American Le Mans Series, Junior World Rally Championship, etc.
The 2004-2006 BTCC seasons were the most interesting as West Surrey Racing printed a different card for each round of the series. In very limited numbers, these often featured a photo of an MG ZS from the preceeding round of the series.
I'll try and take a photo of some of the cards to give you an idea of the number available - possibly almost 30 BTCC cards alone!
I would be interested to hear from anybody who has any duplicate or surplus cards that I can add to the collection. I am more than happy to exchange for any duplicates that I have - that way we both win!

Thanks for your input. Yes you are indeed correct, I am an MG fan! What gave it away I wonder...
I too have worked hard for my collection over the last 8 seasons, but there are a few of the 2004-2006 season's cards that I have missing.
When MG were supporting the team, they printed one or two cards in large numbers that lasted the complete season. However, when they pulled the plug, and money wasn't available in the same quantities, WSR printed a new card for each race meeting and in a lot smaller quantity.
I respect your collection, but would still be interested in seeing what you have managed to collect over the years - specifically the 2004-2006 BTCC seasons as mentioned.

Do you know which ones inparticular you are missing?
I may have a few duplicates, but i'll have to have a good rummage through the old dusty album.

Many thanks, that would be most helpful
I think a photo of each of the 2004-2006 seasons would be best. At least then we can see what is missing at a glance. Leave it with me and I'll get something sorted shortly - maybe not tonight though.
Looking in the album, I have 2 from 2004, 4 from 2005 and 6 from 2006 - so there are defo some missing!
Do you have a complete set? If not, then maybe I have some spares that you don't?

The thing is the Jason Hughes cards are quite rare to find, and the Leggate cards are probably stuck to every teenage racing fans walls

I have 3 or 4 of the Jason Hughes A3 posters - if that's what you're thinking about. If not, then I didn't realise he produced anything else.
Here are some photos of my 2001-2006 collection...

it good to see when people put alot of effort into supporting a team/car that isnt the normal front running ones. I do it a different way i usually try to go to first round and get pics of all the cars then get them printed and hopefully all signed over the other rounds i go to in the season (also do this for BSB aswell). I prefer this as it means not only do i have a signed pic from all the drivers but it also a pic i took (even if i do sometimes mix the drivers up)

I've been going for 8 years (+3 years in the mid-1980s following the Rover Vitesse and MG Metro Turbos!), but as I didn't attend all 30 race meetings between 2004 and 2006 and the fact that MG produced a brand new card for each of those 30 meetings, I clearly have some missing!
What's wrong with asking if anyone has any that are duplicates, or that are surplus to requirements, that they no longer require? If I can exchange like-for-like, then everybody gains!
Anyway, I doubt if anyone has all 30 cards that MG produced in their collection!

Firstly, i don't have any MG stuff. When i said about my collection i didn't mean anything MG related-sorry.
Secondly- i'm not saying anything's wrong with it. i'm just saying that i wouldn't want to that's all. ;)

Lest we not forget that MG were one of the front running teams a few years ago though Mike. I am not a glory supporter who switches camp after the first trip into the kitty litter. :D
That sounds an interesting theme you have for your collection - totally unique in every possibly way. How many years have you been doing that then?

Fair comments then Beemer Fan - must just have been me getting the wrong end of the stick! Apologies if I was somewhat aggressive in my ramblings.

I collect whatever i can get, when i do pit walkabouts i aim for a main team at the begining (alternate these over the season) then go to the smaller teams where there are less queues. I dont think i have any MG cards,

I just try to get to the front of the que and go for my favourites. I've been lucky to get Colin Turkington's and Mat Jackson's this year. Hopefully next year i can go for Adam Jones's

On sunday i went first to Jackson, got 2 hats and 4 signed cards, then to Halfords, got 4 signed posters for them, then the Jordans, got 3 bags and 3 signed posters, then Adam Jones where i got 3 signed cards, then 3 posters off Micky Doyle. Then i went and got 2 signed cards from RAC and then signed cards from VX Racing. Was a hugely successful and rather knackering pitlane walkabout, but it shows that you can get loads if you plan it right and determined to get what you want.

Rather Large :)
Within 10 minutes of the 1st BTCC Race finishing and people starting to queue for the pitwalkabout, the queue was halfway down paddock hill. Luckily i got with the first 5 in the crew and was the first from the queue into the pitlane for the third Brands event running.
