Cheverlot confirm 2009 WTCC Squad

Hi Guys,

for all you hoping to see a return to the BTCC for Alain Menu, you'll be disappointed.

Cheverlot have today confirmed that they will keep the same WTCC lineup for the 5th consective year, with Rob Huff, Alain Menu and Nicola Larini, and a potential new motor, the Cheverlot Cruze, which is the replacement for the Lacetti.

Between Menu, Huff and Larini, they've got 11 wins and Huff is currently still in the running for the 2008 WTCC title, top non-Seat and top Brit. they also have 12 years WTCC Experience (3x4yrs each).

Your thoughts?

Its nice to keep the consisteny going.

Huffy for the title in 09. Whats the new chevvy like/ have you seen any pics?
Also would Larini finally be able to get his 1st WTCC win?

Look at your messages.

The road car looks really nice. About the same size as the Lacetti, but a bit more modern looking with a lot of angles and curves.

From the side it looks like a glorified Mazda 6

yep. Looks pretty much the same, although get some blue & white paint on it and it will look the part. Menu, Huff & Larini will do well with it I think

The 3 drivers seem to be doing quite well, so it seems to make sense to keep them. Almost surprised they have not added a 4th car to the squad though.

They did in Anderstorp last year, Rickard Rydell made a one off appearance, and overtook Larini on the last lap to deny Larini his 1st ever win in the WTCC, so I think because of that, the 4th car wasn't feasable. Also budget aswell.

Chevrolet have done well with the same model car for 4 years now, so I think a change will do them good
