Vauxhall are doing well as we all thought but the car is now 3 years old so can it still win this years championship & can it win championships from 2004 onwards?

i think that one of the vauxhall's will win the championship this year because they already have the top three positions and muller and tommo have a good lead. the rest of the championship is close tho so who knows what will happen. mabey a few non finishes will let the others catch up.

It's got to be Muller though hasn't it, shame cos the poor guy hasn't had his slice of the bad luck this year though that Thommo had at Thruxton, and Matt Neal has had, er all season apart from Brands race 1 ;)

Awfully soon to be picking a winner. The teams and drivers who haven't enjoyed a lot of luck so far, might well see their fortunes improve. Honda particularly. Similarly, VXR may experience difficulties which bring the other runners closer to them.

I'll stick my neck out and say Muller.
I can't see Thommo and Muller not finishing to allow Neal, Morrison etc to catch them so it will be between those two.
Now Thommo has won the championship I feel he has lost the edge. IMO

With 4 wins, 4 runners-up places and no third spots it is fair to say that Muller will win. He is by far the most consistent.
Most worrying though is VX's statistics for the podium. You can't stop a team with 7 wins, 6 runner's up places and only 4 third spots between the three drivers, Vauxhall are just as consistent again.
So The Stig your claims that a) VXR may well encounter difficulties allowing the other runners and b) it is soon to pick a winner are nothing short of laughable.
The package VXR have can't surely encounter difficulties now?

I too can't see Vauxhall having any problems this year. I going for Muller cause he is doing such a good job with all that ballast.
I can't believe how reliable they have made the Astra though. No breakdowns with 3 cars in 8 races!

I am happy someone finally agrees with me!!
I have foud by doing it, it is interesting to use your spreadsheet (MS Excel) application on your PC to make a table of the driver, how many 1st places he has, how many 2nd places he has and how many 3rd places he has and make a chart. It is just as good to use as a reference to check your facts another tale in MS Word of the race, the date, the round and the driver, his team and his nationality.
And the way things are going from it, it will be a while before Muller is overtaken.

Yvan is in amazing form this year so I'm sticking with my preseason prediction of him taking the title.
More importantly, the racing has been so exciting this year, I'm not really too fussed who wins it - just hope the entertainment keeps coming thick and fast.
