Did anyone spot who that was at the end of the BTCC film?:D (A clue, it's the dad of a recent BTCC driver.)

The best season ive witnessed would be 2007.
Gio had to fight reallly hard for the 2007 title whereas he walked it this season due to the unreliablity
Theres a possiblity that JC could have watched the 2001 season before he went out onto the camera's :p

If the BTCC has been that boring, how come they use BTCC drivers in their races (buses, motorhomes etc etc etc). Lets face it, if it doesn't involve destroying something (caravans, buses, motorhomes, more caravans, a decent looking Jag,) or going completely over the top and offending a section of the country then JC doesn't seem overly interested! "I disagree with you, therefore you are wrong!" seems to be his attitude.
And relax.

I saw JC at a Brands Hatch BTCC round during the late 90's. (Thought I'd share that :D )
I haven't watched Top Gear properly yet. I'd only just got in from ROC when it came on. I've got it recorded on digi box though.

well even i know that it hasnt been as good as the other years- because of the lack of manfacturers.

If thats how you feel dont watch the show . . . . I love Clarkson for most the reasons you said above, a lot better than having 3 James Mays stood there presenting the show. He brings excitement, entertainment and humour to the show and I for one thank him for that. If he doesnt like BTCC cause its boring . . . . so be it, not everyone HAS to like it or find it exciting

It is possible to watch the show and disagree with the presenters! I thought the Civic Type R road test last year was total rubbish and I don't like the way they sometimes mindlessly destroy cars but I still enjoy the show the rest of the time!

Don't get me wrong, I (for the most part) enjoy Top Gear, I'm just growing tired of JC's deliberate attempts to anger certain sectors of the audience - for example "we've had complaints about the wanton destruction of a Morris Marina" (which, incidentally, has a thriving community and people who love them (and no, I'm not one of them!)) "so here, we've bought one. Oh Dear, a piano has dropped on it!" It just shows a distinct contempt for anyone who doesn't like what he does!

it called sarcasm i bet there was only the odd complaint so used it too get a laugh. For me i think over half the viewers just watch so they got something to complain about (not saying you are one) but doing something that gets the show in the papers is what keeps it going if they didnt it would be as bad as fifth gear.

not as good as the ford fiesta film, that was pure quality dont you agree? the BTCC film would have been better with all the team driving them together.

Hes being sarcastic, i own a vauxhall corsa and had he done that to a Corsa, i for one would have laughed.

Every other week you laugh away with Clarkson..
So they mention how the manufacturer's side of things is slipping, and it may have been a bad on that side of things for the last few seasons.
But there is no need to turn love for JC into hatred over one little comment.
When have we ever taken TG seriously? I mean we watch it for a good laugh, they make funny jokes when there doing tests around the tracks.
The only car they have taken seriously is that Gumpert and the Veyron.
No need to turn sour now. ;)

I also want to add this little comments aswell.
Jeremy Clarkson came up with the idea of a V8 food blender/smootie maker and a V8 rocking chair. You found it funny.
So he mentions a "Burning Touring Car Championship" as a joke, and about 50% of BTCC fans take it seriously.

Its a shame we gotta wait till end of the of the year to get the next episode. but I guess it gives me plenty time to get my hands on all the others I've missed over the years.
I think JC just takes great delight, as would I, in showing this country up for what it is: a country that wants to find something to moan about in everything with a lot of people who want to kill off every fun or entertaining thing 1 at a time. At the end of the day if there were enough complaints because he really had gone too far, I think the BBC trust would be stepping in to investigate and take the apropriate action. Personally I find him 1 of the most entertaining men on TV at the moment.
Hes being sarcastic, i own a vauxhall corsa and had he done that to a Corsa, i for one would have laughed.
Same here, just because I like a particular car doesnt mean everybody else has to. Although a guy I used to work with took great delight in ripping into my little Corsa at every available opportunity, then not long before he left the company he had to call me up at 5.30 1 morning to go and give him a hand with his car because it had broken down.

fans which show the attitude that you are displaying here bore me to death, why dont you go and write a letter to the daily mail- then the best bbc programme will have to apologise yet again simply because many british people seem to happily watch topgear- yet inexplicably lose every single funny bone in their body.
maybe you can tell how much stuff like this angers me????
