When was the last time a Vauxhall was not on the front row???
Well chuffed for Alan and Matt - all day it looked as though they were going to do it and it happened.
Now just to convert that to a win...

Brands Hatch last year was the liast time we had a non-Vauxhall front row.
But, yes, it is great to see Honda back up at the front. Can the bad luck hold off though?.....

I'm gonna jinx him by saying this, but Alan seems to have more luck than Matt this year.. But I'm sure Matt will be in the lead very very soon after the start!

Great news for Honda and well deserved. The whole championship should be much closer than it actually is. Yvan, James and Paul have been great for VXR, but Honda have been equally good with no luck. Maybe now Honda, MG and Proton can acquire speed, luck or reliability and make the Vauxhalls work even harder for their points.

I hope so too. But wheras I see Honda maybe take confidence from this weekend into future races and realise they can challenge without jeopardising their pace, and MG copying to suit their own style of racing, I don't see Proton improving anytime within the next year or two.
To what knowldge I do have on Proton during the close season, they just seem to have not capitalised on the close season like MG, Honda and VX have in doing some serious modification work on the key areas and take on a new driver. They didn't seem, at the time, to realise just how detrimental it was or they would have forseen that they with largely an older setup they would be seriosuly uncompetetive in terms of overall performance.
I don't know what Proton must do, but what pitifully small knowledge I have on the BTCC I feel that if they can get some inspiration maybe they they can have a good car that can challenge.

I wouldn't be that sure. Alan is very underrated and a great driver. Don't underestimate him!

I'll agree with that. I've always rated Morrison and does he not have a heavier car than Neal this weekend?

lol! Bit of a honda disaster in the 2nd race, but what an amazing couple of races, great to see MG in the thick of the action.

superb first race - and they were allowed to race each other. Marvellous.
Also great to see MG up there as well and Collard and Leslie in the second race - that was very refreshing.
