What a race!!! :D
Just watched it live on Motors TV, the fight for 3rd was amazing, best racing ive seen for years. Shame that Reid dropped at the end and the a s s h o l e Muller got 3rd, and then he had the cheek to complain saying that the MGs were geting away with evrything, yes it was rough, but 1. It's the BTCC, there is contact, and 2. You hit Reid first Muller!!!
Fricking hypercrit:rolleyes:

Well done to Honda too

What on earth was Muller complaining about ?
I hope his team management remind him that there were a great many young spectators present today and that he might consider thinking about which words he uses for his post race interview, particularly when the said interview is being broadcast live over TOCA race radio.

I wasn't sure if I should get involved in this as most people around here know my views on Mr Muller! So I think all I will say is ~ it has taken a long time but at last people are starting to see what he is really like!

that's odd - I had 3 text messages after the races from drivers watching it on the box commenting all saying the same.

What a great race but what a pity that Reid had to keep hitting Muller.

and I am not even a Muller fan (and I hope he was fined for his language)

What did Muller say?

PM me it if it's to rude! :p

Les

I do not use language like that - ever.

I felt so sorry for Alan Hyde - it came out as sorry to the boys and girls for that.

I have to say I am not sure whether he is playing up to the live cameras. He keeps on saying hi to Anton/Antoinne (who ever that is) and now this. I know he is a pretty volatile sort of bloke being French but really.....

I think Muller is playing up to the cameras.

Has anyone else noticed how his accent varies almost from interview to interview? It was very exaggerated this weekend.

I think someone is winding you up. (Or maybe it's Mullerhate)? Personally I watched for the racing (and it was brilliant) not for the 'Beckham factor'. When interviewed after the first race Muller said that Matt Neil seemed to jump the start and that an MG pushed him onto the grass. If he said anything other than that then for some uncanny reason my video has been tampered with by the French secret service.
Bad language? After the second race Anthony Reid called himself a '****** plonker' for outbraking himself after the safety car left the circuit. If that is going to corrupt children then I suggest all televisions should be destroyed as a matter of urgency.
What great racing at Rockingham! Why do some people like to use anything for a poke at someone?

Think he was having a bad hair day - hence the grump after race one. Seriously for a moment, nothing that took place in the race warranted what was said in his interview. He should rely on the race stewards to put whatever occurred right, or speak privately to the driver with whom he has a grievance.
If he is this seasons champion, which might be likely, I will certainly have mixed feelings. It is right and proper the best driver becomes champion, but this potential champion will be remembered by many people for the wrong reasons.

My previous post has been automatically edited which makes it look really naughty! Anthony Reid called himself a blo-ody plonker.

The Stig

That was nothing compared to what Yvan Muller uttered.
Anthony Reid appears to be berating himself. Muller was clearly very angry - big difference.

Then the French secret service has somehow spirited it off the video I recorded!
Were you watching something else?

The Stig

I might have mis-heard him, if I did, so did my 12 year old son and three quarters of the Rockingham building, each of whom did a double take and looked at each other in amazement.

When did this happen? I have all the Motors TV coverage from yesterday. I know I am blonde but I can't find this interview??!!!

What did you think he said?

Nikh_mg

I cant belive that anyone can say Reid was driving badly, it's tin-tops, it's a contact sport, as long as you dont do a Neal at Brands it ok, and Muller hit Reid 1st anyway, it was a total racing incident

Amanda, after the first race Matt Neil was interviewed by Vicky, then alan Morrison (by Vicky) then that evil Frenchman Muller (by Vicky). His first word was "Bonjour" and it seems that is going to corrupt everyone who ever went to a motor race meeting.

But the real problem was after the second race when Anthony Reid said ******! I know that will be edited (and you think it was a word that started with F!) But it was blo-ody!

I quite like the idea of two of the senior guys, in this case, Muller and Reid, racing wheel to wheel in nearly equal equipment each
refusing to give an inch. It's a mans game - if you can't take it back, don't dish it out. Dry your eyes, Yvan!!

Who really cares if someone says b l 0 0 d y? It's not the end of the world, it aint even a "swear word" in my books, not half as bad as Ozzy on the grid at the Canadian GP lol "Nah they're at home sh1tting!" lol

There seems to be a lot of confusion about this!!

Yvan said something he shouldn't on the podium truck as it was travelling from the pits to turn 1 where the presentation was being held and Alan had to apologise.

Can someone pm me what Yvan said (appropriately edited of courseƖ)

Well there are obviously two interviews being talked about here - one on TOCA radio and one on the TV.

I didn't hear the TOCA radio one, but if Les' comments are anything to go by Mr Muller must have said something he shouldn't have. Most unfortunate for Alan Hyde who shouldn't have to put up with that sort of thing, particularly from a "professional" driver like Mr Muller.

For the TV interview, I don't know if that was before or after the TOCA interview, but it seemed fairly harmless to me. He wasn't pleased by any means and thinks everyone has got it in for Vauxhall.

Well a couple of points;

1. In a review of the start Tim H thought there was no jump start, so that is good enough for me.

2. Muller was dealing out just as much rough stuff as any of the others.

3. This is Touring Cars - if you can't take the rough with the smooth (like Anthony Reid clearly can) then go elsewhere.

4. Mr Muller has never liked having to race hard for his living. He just does not like racing in the pack. This is probably one major reason he has not (yet) won the championship.

Alright - four points!!!:)

Finally, to Anthony Reid, well said that man - he can call himself anything he likes, and it could have been worse!

Alan, I totally agree with ya, fair play mate:D

I thought I'd misheard what he said on the radio but obviously I didn't. It's not a great thing to do at what's meant to be a good family event but then again, I've seen proffesional sportsman do FAR worse things. I think drivers should be fined for swearing in live interviews and then the money be put to good use.

Come on you lot, Im sure Muller's not the first to come out with bad language on air and he wont be the last. They must be so hyped up with adrenalin during and after a race I think it would be very easy to slip up.

And as for worrying about the kids, they have already heard every sware word in the book at school!
