I know there are still seats out there to be confirmed, but do we have any news as to who definately wont be returning to the BTCC this year, mainly people there were in it last year??

To be honest, anything is possible, and we won't know all the facts until media day next Thursday. The only certainty I can think of that there will definitely be no Darren Turner, everything else is up in the air for another 6 days.

His website is giving mixed news. It says "Watch this space for 2009 plans" indicating he may still be considering BTCC, but his Timetable link takes us to news he'll be doing Clio's this year.

Again, this is a question only the Media Day will answer...

Michael Doyle will not be out full time this season. There's no ifs or buts about it really.

All that indicates is he may be doing something this year . . it could be BTCC . . could be Clios . . could be Lawnmower Racing! We dont know!

I'm hoping he'll be in a touring car all season but I guess we'll see next Thursday.

I can honestly say that with Michael, nothing is set in stone so far this season. Yes the c****t c****h has affected things, but all I am saying is "irons in fires" ;)

Not unless he got six numbers on the lottery this weekend. Doyle can barely raise the funds to rub his own car, the chances of him being able to afford a seat at Dynamics are almost zero.

Do I remember rightly that at the end of last year he anounced that he would be sponsored by the Scottish Sun newspaper? I know that wouldnt fund a full team effort, but partly there.
Whatever happens, I hope he makes it to the grid this year, he well punched above his weight in the old Civic last year, and showed great promise.

dont think there was a lot of money in the sun deal but it did give mickey a lot of national coverage. it would be a shame if the wee fella wasnt out. surprised with him being such a big fan of Celtic FC he hasnt approached the club and the "greatest fans in the world" for sponsorship if all the season ticket holders at parkhead gave him the price of a pint of guinness he could do the btcc easily
