Hello Guys,

Sorry I didn't run this before now, after we lost the last one... :o

So we're off to Donny, Donny, Donny for the next rounds of the BTCC, what is going to happen? Will we see another 3 races with 3 different winners?

So who's going then?

I am, due to a lift from a fab friend :D

Oh yeah, well I know not much about Ireland either. County Kerry is bottom right and Cork bottom left. Dublin is where Boyzone is from... :D

Whoops, off topic! :o

Kerry and Cork are both next to each other, down in the bottom left.
Dublin is bordering east and south east really.

Not sure. Haven't been to Donny before, the sound of high fences all round and a chunk of the viewing areas closed doesn't sound too appealing. Add a 6 hour round trip (before considering getting out afterwards) and I'm fast talking myself out of it.

More likely to be Saturday and watching on TV Sunday, I think.

I'll be there (if the tickets ever turn up!), camping with the kids - weather forecast not looking to good though. First time at Donny, so looking forward to it and then back to my local (Oulton Park) at fortnight later.

Brand new member from America, here...

I need to be in Bracknell for business the week of the 18th, so I'm flying in early (land Heathrow Saturday 7am) just for the BTC races and plan to spend the weekend at Donington.

Any advice for viewing places (besides the infield, I guess) for the races?

Also, what about pubs/restaurants nearby where race fans are likely to gather Saturday night?

Cheers,

Dean

Does anyone think we will see any more new winners and have 7/8 or even 9 different winners from 9? In my opinion 9 is probs not going to happen, although I think that there are 3 potential new winners for the year on the grid. ie. Andrew Jordan, James Thompson and Jonny Adam. However Jones, Jelley and O'Neill have shown strong pace so far as well so cannot be counted out.

It's not looking to promising atm Weather rise, according to BBC 5 Day Weather thingy Majigy. What is it with Donnington and bad weather?

But than again they said the same about Thruxton, It was cold but didnt Rain :D

I wont abandon hope yet ¬.¬

There's conflicting stories about the infield. It will almost definitely be closed for parking but there's a chance it will still be partly open for spectators. It all depends on who you ask.

Assuming the infield is off limits, go out of the paddock towards Redgate and keep walking.
Redgate - tight first corner, there's bound to be some action. You can get close to the fence to get a good view of the corner but you can't see much more of the track.
Hollywood - stand on the bank further back for a view of Redgate and the top of Craner Curves. You won't be as close but you'll see more of the track.
Old Hairpin - lots of space here and usually lots of action to watch. Again you are a little further from the track but you get a good view of the cars coming down Craners, round the Old Hairpin and towards Starkeys.
McLeans - this is as far as you can get on the onside due to the construction work.

If you can get infield then there's a huge bank overlooking Craners / Old Hairpin / Starkeys.

If you are going both days I'd probably recommend spending some of Saturday looking round the paddock. Generally it's a lot quieter and teams are a little more relaxed. Pit-lane walkabout on Sunday is fine if you want autographs and giveaways but tend to be very crowded and descends into a scrum.

Glad im not going if thats how limited the spectating space will be. Seems like it could get very cramped to me
