Hi Mr Gow,

I am submitting this question on behalf of multiple members of this forum, including myself, whom have been discussing if an official Charity supporting BTCC Drivers, Teams, and or Grid Girls Calendar would be possible? Thus far there seems great support and enthusiasm for such an idea from the members. Our discussion was started after the article featuring Tom Chilton's recent photoshoot on behalf of the UK's Everyman Cancer Campaign.

We think this could be something that could be a win win win scenario for any Charity involved, The BTCC itself in the public mind, the general public who follow this sport. I do believe the public would be very willing to show support when it comes to purchasing any such product. Thus far the members here have indicated great williness to both help make this happen and their williness to themselves purchase Calendars if they are produced. I would like to add that other members and myself are willing to give some of our own time and offer any assistance I/we could give in any way to yourself and the BTCC if you were to consider this something the BTCC might get involved in and support. I do believe with your support we may just be able to pull this off and make it a success and worthwhile for all who would like to be involved. Of course our support and help would also be there should the BTCC themselves like to implement and organise such an idea themselves.

If you would be so kind to please read our thoughts thus far, along with initial ideas and possible other fund raising options, activities, some other aspects we have been discussing, which we thought might be combined with this Calendar idea to raise further funds and might be possible at BTCC events. Our discussion thus far can be found in the 'Naked Tom Chilton' Thread in the Forum for Discussion of all BTCC related issues.

I thank you on behalf of all members for the opportunity to ask you this here and I'd be more than willing to discuss further with you or whomever else at the BTCC if this were to be possible. If there is someone else or somewhere else I should be contacting if I ask could you please let me know how I can contact? I felt I should approach you now in these early stages in order to gauge whether the BTCC would consider it as a project they would be interested and or involved in and support first before taking any further steps. We have been also discussing producing something ourselves, amongst the 'fans' of this sport, should this not be an option to work in conjunction with the BTCC. We do however think if it were possible to have some official involvement and support from the BTCC in such an endevour the results could be much more significant for all who would benefit from such a project.

I presume you may have missed the announcement, back in March, of the BTCC/HiQ initiative to raise £100,000 for 'Breast Cancer Care' charity this year.

It is the only charitable fundraising effort which the BTCC will be officially involved with this season; http://www.btcc.net/html/generalnews_detail.php?id=1304&month=3&year=2009&form=browse&searchterm=
