James Nash is the latest entry to the grid an an RML Chevvie (on the homepage). Don't know much about this lad but an RML car is always another great addition. If Jason Hughes comes back that'd be 24 cars by my reckoning.

Great missuse of the Roll eyes icon ¬.¬ :p
Anyway, Don't know much about the Bloke so i'll just have to see how he does at Oulton the Park
Good to see more Entry's, I remember back in '07 wanting to see a Lacetti on the BTCC Grid and now there are 4 :D

Great to have another car on the grid.
Its amazing how this RML entry has exploded from nothing in a matter of weeks. :D
Does this mean that Tempus did in fact only buy 1 Lacetti from RML?

RML/Silverline
He isnt racing with Silverline, he is racing under the RML banner ;)
Plato and Jackson = Silverline Racing with RML (I think its with RML  )
Nash = RML

It has been confirmed that Nash will score points solely for RML in the outright and independent teams' championships - not for the sister Racing Silverline squad whose Chevrolets, driven by Jason Plato and Mat Jackson, are also fettled by Ray Mallock's Wellingborough-based outfit.

When he starts consistently beating Plato and Jackson for the sponsors to think hey lets have another car?
In all seriousness the added car and a new upcoming driver is fantastic news! It is good that RML have been able to say yes we can field another touring car team at such short notice and do a really good job.
Whats more the second hand Chevrolet is now another proven option for the future for the privateer teams when the time comes to buy another car rather than a bit of a gamble.

It's a cost saving measure. They've already brought a job lot of number 2 and number 3 decals, no point in wasting money on another pack of numbers.
Probably :p

It won't.
Only two cars per team can score in the teams' championships so there'd be little point.
It would only make half sense even if Silverline were sponsoring young Nash and if that were the case surely there'd be a story about it or a mention of the fact in the news section along with the announcement that is there. Furthermore he'd probably then be under the Silverline banner. Safe to assume therefore that Nash's sponsor(s) don't include Silverline.
They are separate teams and points would not be transferrable between them. To the best of my knowledge there is nothing in the BTCC regs to allow two teams to amalgamate and combine their points - and even if it were allowed we'd still be back to the two cars per weekend scoring team championship points as above.

Haven't got a clue who the new entry is but I am pleased he's joining, looking forward to see how he does. This year is certainly the year for surprises and late entries.

100% - it has happened - two under the RML banner and two under Silverline, but all four being fettled by Ray Mallock's crews.

Tempus is made up of ex RML so could be deemed as 4 RML teams.

This really shows the strength of the BTCC in my opinion, as far I as I know there were 4 2008 spec chevys and they have all now ended up in the BTCC from the WTCC.
I also now believe that Tempus maybe bought one car and had an option on another, maybe James Nash was going to be with Tempus, but decided his money was better spent with RML, even only for part of a year?

the chevrolet has ALWAYS been a great car for the btcc.its got a really strong engine, possibly the strongest out there, really good areo, the best dampers etc plus the support of the possibly in my opinion the best super2000 touring car team around.the chevrolet has never shone in the btcc because of the teams the car was placed with and without being rude, last year robertshaw racing just didnt have the depth and technical knowledge to run a top line touring car team.look at this year, rml and tempus have come into the season and taken it to the top.i will be dissapointed and surprised if a chevrolet doessnt win the championship
as for james nash, best of luck to him,he certainatly has the package beneath him to suceed and to learn the ropes at the top flight of british motorsport:D

I can believe how many late entries we have had! We could have a field of 23/24 cars at Oulton this year.

Key word is Ex. Yes they may still be mates with the RML guys but they are paid by Tempus. Tempus has no other links with RML other then that. Granted RML and Tempus are sharing some settings with each other but they are two different teams and not one. Also you have to realise that if they were it would mean we wouldnt have RML, Silverline and Tempus any more. It would make sense for it to slim down to Silverline and Tempus as only two cars per team can score points at an event.
