We are off to the Festival of Speed tomorrow, it will be our first visit. Then we are off to Croft for the weekend!

I just wondered if anyone else was planning to go?

Just found out I would be going on Tuesday, when a mate in Southampton wanted to go, which means less of a drive on Saturday!

Went a few years ago and it's a great event, wonderful atmosphere, nice to be able to get close up to the action.

Last time I went was also on a Saturday, I'd imagine that it gets rather busy on the final day but since they no longer encourage driving at ten-tenths following the nasty accident a few years ago, I'm sure that you won't miss much attending earlier in the weekend.

Hopefully this year I'll finally get down to the revival meeting as well.

Try the roads around goodwood and the south downs, if you don't catch the traffic their a joy to drive on

I'm off to Goodwood tomorrow (Saturday) with a mate of mine. Neither of us have been to Goodwood before so it should be an interesting experience...

It will also give me the change to test out my new toy - yep, i've taken the plunge & bought a DSLR :D

I would highly recommend a visit to the Revival. We went last year with some friends and had a great time, we dressed up in 1950s gear and had a fantastic day. Shame it clashes with BTCC at Donington this year as we will miss out!

Had a great day at the Festival of Speed and will definitely go back again next year, fingers crossed it doesn't clash with BTCC next time!

Revival - I'm seriously tempted as well...

Anyways, I had an enjoyable day out on Saturday despite the heat and the dust. I would definately go back, though I would recommend doing more than one day so that you've got a chance to see everything. I missed out on some things due to time constraints.

My best moment? Seeing one of my all-time favourite cars in the flesh, the Lancia Delta S4. Shame it didn't run on Saturday, but the Stratos, 037 Rallye and the Audi Quattro were a little bit of consolation...

I took lots of photos :) My favourite one? That would have to be Jackie Oliver in the ex-Graham Hill 1968 Lotus 49b - I have attached it for your perusal...

You MUST MUST MUST go to the Revival
It is simply the greatest Motorsport event in the world.
I'll be there all day for all three days and won't miss a single lap of anything.
I would say I'll be the one wandering around somewhat misty eyed and with a big lump in my throat but I think that is the case for anyone who goes to this event regularly.
Shelby Cobra Daytona.....mmmm.....

Unfortunately the powers that be have managed to make the Revival clash with a round of the BTCC so we won't be there (well - maybe just the Friday).

Bit annoying - went last year for one day and thoroughly enjoyed ones self! Even dressed up - what will you be dressing up as Stuart?

I'm likely to be going alone so I'll just be dressed as a massively over excited Historic Motorsports Enthusiast!
Dare say I'll tone things down a bit and swap my Aussie V8 Holden hat for my Bentley one though...
I'm afraid the lure of Lister Jaguars and a BRM V16 (have you ever heard one of those things on full throttle?) outweighs the BTCC for me.
