I don't know what the rules are for fans posting their pics but I realise these could be a fantastic set of pics and if any of the admin team wish to use them anywhere for whatever reason then they can have my permission to do so. I don't think many people will have got these shots.

If so then email me and I can send full sized images ;)

No. I just always like to include some shots of the marshals, because if it wasn't for them there would be no racing for me to photograph.
(And they're really good subject matter anyway, because they're all "characters" :p )

peterattheboro: That third shot of Harry's car, really shows the impact that Tom Chilton's car gave it and also the aftershot of the car being taken away shows how much the car took of it and not the driver. Even the roof was dented due to the impact on the rollcage of the car.

Charlie all that work you've done on your photography is paying off dividends, it really shows in the uniqueness of the angles you have chosen in your BTCC shots.

Many thanks for uploading your photos Whitey, I went to Croft at the weekend and had a really good time but the thing that stood out most was the girl stood next to Dave Pinkney with "those shorts" on !! You've captured her best feature really well and wondered if you would be able to email me it so I can admire it in future !! :)

Many Thanks

Whilst I can appreciate many people want to get trackside, there are dangers which many people do not consider enough. A photographer was hit by a Lamborghini at Knockhill this weekend, resulting in a broken leg, and another was hit at the Abingdon CARnival putting him in hospital.

At Croft BTCC as well as getting a thorough soaking, I was showered in shingle by one of the G50's as well as some Clios. At Oulton Park I was directly in front of Jordan Oakes accident in the Formula Renault race. Again showered in shingle but it could have been a lot worse. The Oulton Park accident moved the armco barrier I was behind quite a lot.

Most circuits have a number of very good photo locations from the public areas, and place like Snetterton have very little catch fencing. The worst is for the casual photographer is Rockingham.

Yep. I fully understand the dangers and did see that Lambo crash. The thing with that though is that the driver is a ****ing idiot and should be banned from all trackdays and competitions.

I really want to show off more of my shots through media as I absolutley love capturing motorsport. And there's an awesome chance that you are gonna get hit by flying stones when cars veer off into the litter and it's either gonna hit you or your glass! But that's what insurance is for! :D

And I was there for the soaking too! Stuck infield with just a tshirt, shorts and my camera! :D

Ohh and I see one of my shots is currently being used on the main page!

See you don't need to be trackside to catch a newsworthy item! The irony is, if you were trackside you probably wouldn't have been there to take that shot! I was at Tower for that race, Cleuvaux for race 1 and the inside of the complex for the soggy race 3.

Seriously, being hit by gravel travelling at roughly the same speed as the car that started it flying is not pleasant. My wife now worries each time I go out wondering what will happen and I have a fairly healthy self-preservation instinct! Insurance is a safety net that should never be needed!

I was indeed lucky to be in the right place at the right time for this shot. But i'm still very limited as to who is gonna use my images as i'm just a spectator.

I'm the same as you. If I see myself in danger then i'll be outta there like a rabbit. I guess it's down to your positioning. Find a good spot for that perfect shot without the fear of a car coming sliding towards you!

I did give permission in my original post but I believe in the T&C that the BTCC can use any images posted in here aslong as no other official photographer got a similar shot?

And no I didn't get paid, though I wouldn't say no! :p

I certain hope not, as I've never seen anything to suggest that is true. If that is the case then it's almost unique amongst internet forums.

I know you said in your original post that it was ok to use but I'm surprised no-one from the admin team contacted you first to confirm.

Due to me being a moron and not checking my personal messages, I was sent a message yesterday morning notifying me that they are using my image and I will get the credit for it.
