just wondering after the announcement of new rules, whether this will help to contribute towards a new era of high crowds and big manufacturers.

Although i love the BTCC at the moment, i just cant get rid of memories of the glamour of 90s period, because of the manufactures, many of you may argue that the racing is at its best with lots of great indipendants, however i still think the BTCC is a series that can only do better with 3-4 manufacturers amongst the strong ideies.

Any thoughts?

I'd go along with that. The BTCC has had a couple of 'quiet' years but overall it's always very good. If a few new manufacturers come in with the new regs, it will be fantastic though, especially with bigger cars and wheels. In reality the racing may not be a whole lot better but from a superficial point of view and for sheer fan hype, I think it will improve greatly.

I genuinely think that Ford could be very close to a works entry, especially if they use the Fiesta in WRC under the S2000 regs. Who knows after that:cool:

With the costing reductions of the new regs that can only get more manufacturer teams interested, whether they wait a year after the regs come in to see how things are working we will have to see.
If the new regs continue to bring a level playing field for all then hopefully the close and unpredictable racing we have at the moment will continue, just at higher speeds hopefully!:D
