It seems a great shame to me that the radio isn't availible at all rounds.
Can't something be done???

Checking the forums on the tocaradio website, it appears that the tocaradio boys were told there services were no longer requried (at about 7pm last night).
It directs us to email BTCC organisers to ask why this is.....

Very unfair on those of us who don't have Motors TV. I'm having to try and follow it on MST.

Just got back from Croft - only had radio via PA (and we weren't close enough to a speaker to hear!) but from what I did hear I think it was a technical fault that meant the circuit broadcast on MW radio wasnt working - maybe same thing affected internet?

The company that is contracted to provide the radio service for us, unfortunately let us down and simply couldn't broadcast TOCA Radio at Croft.....due to circumstances completely outside TOCA's control.
This problem was entirely created by the company that runs the radio service for us.
As a result, we have now ended our association with that company due to their inability to consistantly provide the service that they were contracted to provide.....however we are taking immediate steps to ensure that we will have a radio service up and running from Snetterton onwards.
It is an extremely frustrating and infuriating situation for all of us, I can assure you.

I did enjoy the banter between Al, John Hindhaugh (who should be used more regularly) and Richard Neil.

Out of interest, why did ARB ever stop powering the service! they were always reliable!

I agree about that, I thought they worked really well, and it's a shame we only ever get John "that'll need a bit of T-cut" Hindhaugh at Croft. Shame we couldn't hear more of it because the tannoys at Croft are crap.

We do need more John Hindhaugh and I know he was at Rockingham, as I saw him walking back to his car with Alan.
The guy is a star u should listen to him on the ALMS Radio Web, which sadly clashes with BTCC rounds. If u do get chance to tune into the ALMS Radio Web give it a listen and he we will keep u entertained.

I really missed TOCA radio at Croft, we always seemed to end up away from the speakers for the PA System so couldn't hear what was going on. It was not the same without Alan Hyde keeping us up to date with all the action, going to the circuits and listening to Alan is like meeting up with a good friend!

The tannoy system at Croft was dreadful. People who watched down at Clervaux (unless it was an intermittent problem) and at the complex told me it simply did not work, save for a pathetic hissing noise. If you wanted to hear anything on qualifying day (when there were also some races), you needed to trudge all the way over to Sunny Out. This surely cannot be acceptable at a BTCC meeting. It's embarrassing, particularly when the commentators are putting heart and soul into their jobs. It got better on Sunday for it appears someone switched on the tannoys at Clervaux but still at the complex they did not work. This is not the first time the tannoys haven't worked at Croft. Does the circuit care about paying spectators, particularly on what is its biggest motor racing meeting of the year?

we ended up using mobile phones and mates on the other side of the circuit to swap notes - not acceptable but there again not Toca's fault (well maybe a little as they chose that company)

can someone explain a little bit more about whats going on here? is the company in question responsible for broadcasting the radio signal, or for the entire radio programming? how long have they been doing this for?

from reading between the lines and putting two and two together (so beware!)
Toca had a different company providing the streaming etc this year which were not reliable and were given the push this weekend.
This doesnot affect Al thank goodness and the radio etc will be back at Snetterton.
On a seperate vein the tannoy was diabolical (if any at all) and without our radios we were scuppered as to what had happened round the next bend.
