I know this was done on the old forum but just thought it would be intresting to see how it turns out now we have polls. So whats been your fav year?? Mine was 95, the battles all the way through the pack couldnt be beaten. 96 comes a close second, if only the Audis had been less competitive or had two wheel drive.

I've voted for 98 cos I think that was a really good season - lots of winners (5 in first 5 races) Mansell at Donnington, Cleland back on the winners podium and Rydell finally won the championship. (and because no-one else had voted for it)
But to be honest I think every season is good - 1997 was a bit dull in that if you werent in a Renault you had no chance, but it still had its moments like Tim Harvey's drive to second at Thruxton I think it was. And the last round when Menu and Plato had their fall out!
I've seen people slagging off 2000 for being boring but I disagree - there were 9 different winners - nothing between the top 10 drivers in terms of qualifying times at most tracks and the title went right down to the wire with 3 people in contention up to the last round (and then only 2 points separating Menu and Reid). There was also all the action between Kristensen and Neal, Plato and just about any one else who he was near! Not the best and could have done with more cars but certainly not boring.
Then 2001 and 2002 have been great - one thing I am glad of is that Vauxhall didnt impose team orders in 01/02 like in 2000 as that would have killed the championship in no time.
All I can say is role on 2003 - but in the meantime I've got the videos from 1988 to 2002 to keep me entertained!!

Hard to pick between, 98 and 95. With 93 and 94 close behind.

1994, because the Alfas won, and it was generally a good year.

Probably 1998, but 1995 is so close behind. I loved 93 too, and I agree with John about 2000, but it has to just be 1998

Yep - dunno what it wins though!!
Does that mean theres a new poll with best race of 98 coming up?!?
But then it'll be Donnington Pk I presume!

It is no surprise that 1998 was the best season of the last decade. It came at a time when touring cars were an attractive option for manufacturers, when the economy was strong and before the rise of DTM.
I doubt we will see another year like that for quite some time.

1996. Thats all im gonna say. Loads of action, dominance spoiled it a bit, but if this was best race, 1998, Donnington Pk, Round 12
