Dan Eaves Thruxton race suit on ebay

found this whist searching for BTCC vids, thought it might interest some of you......

Does anyone know how much these things are to make?! Bet they are expensive though.

assuming it is the sparco FIA suit you are looking at best part of £500 plus whatever it costs to have all the badges done, thing is this suit dates from 2005 and all fia gear is date stamped so might only have a couple of years to go before it is date obsolete and cant be used in competition (cant be bothered digging out blue book to get dates). can still be used in stuff like sprints and stock car racing where you dont need an fia suit. or if you have plenty of dosh to have a bit of cloth sitting doing nowt

I'd guess at higher than £500 before logos etc. are embroidered on. Regardless of age, I don't think a buyer is going to buy this to race in it.

I did see this earlier today on one of my usual ebay searches. Be interesting to see what if any other bids it gets.
I have a Ford Rapid Fit Mondeo race suit that I won on ebay. It's not fireproof and was worn by one of the grid girls. I got it for £35. Takes pride of place in my collection. :D

I have just mailed the seller and they say it is the Sparco FIA and was the one worn during the 2005 season including the 3 race win at Thruxton.

Intrigued but having met Dan I will never be able to squeeze my fat ass inside it. Gonna keep an eye out for Martin Bell's suit!!;) ;)

just priced the fia sparco suit £472.50 plus vat so by guess of £500 wasnt that far out, bit more expensive than my AWS proban marshals ovies at £60

Is that for a standard of the rack suit though. Don't forget this suit will have to be custom made in team colours unlike mass produced more basic colourd suits.

There is a VXR 888 race suit for sale on ebay at the moment also, doesn't say if it is a nomex suit or not or who it actually belonged to though.

Wow! I SOOOO want that! But there's no way I'd ever be able to afford it.:( I just hope that whoever the lucky person is who gets it looks after it well!

If anyone knows of anything that once belonged to Mr Plato that's for sale, I'm sure I could find the money from somewhere:D

They said they can get it signed by Dan or a written note from him saying that it is his whichever is easier so I guess that they are close to Dan (or could be him.......)

It looks like it's Dan selling it himself, or someone selling it for him. The location is Moreton-in-Marsh, where he's from. And looking at their feedback, the last item they sold was pitlane passes and a competitors carpark pass, which obviously he won't need anymore.

Over the past few years i've managed to acquire Rickard Rydell's Volvo suit from 1997 and dan eaves team halfords suit from 2003. And they are both FIA approved.

That suit of Dan's i won through a competion that greenflag were running when they were sponsors of the BTCC and oddly this suit has Tim Harvey's name written in it but the suit belonged to Dan?

I've had them on display in my room for awhile but sadly had to put them in storage since moving in to a smaller house. They certainly are my prize items!
