Now, some of you may see this as a biased view, and judging by my name it is quite probable.
The last 2 races the MG's have finally seemed near the pace of Honda And VX. Especailly Reid. In the interview with Reid on ITV, he said MG had had trouble adapting to the new trye, but they now seem to have conquered the problem.
Does anyone think there is improvment in MG and there performance will improve? Can they become a real threat to Honda and VX?

They will get there! Distinct similarity between MG this year and Honda last, nothing earth shattering, just a general improvement.
I just wish Proton could do the same!

Yeah agree Alan about Proton - I actually thought they would win a race this season but they look a long way off that achievement. The drawback is will they be willing to hang around if they aren't getting the results? They hardly ever get a mention on the coverage, which sometimes gives the impression there are only 3 works teams.
While we're on the subject - what happened about the 3rd Proton that was expected to appear?

Proton will still be about next year. Thought Croft was one of their better weekends - wasn't Leslie pedalling quite near the front until the damage? I just thought they seemed to be handling better this time.

yep its nice to see MG moving up the grid, its all down to wsr hard work!!
however i cant help but think that wsr distinct reputation of managing to naff up in touring cars has cropped up agin in the MG they did it with the Ford Mondeo and Prodrive made it a winner and funny Prodrive made the Honda Accord a potential winning car and wsr managed to naff things up again, okay they have not done a bad job in developing the MG from scratch but however little money MG are putting in i would as a Director of MG be a little upset that in its 3rd season, 2nd full one that the results should have been a little, no hang on a lot better in 2003......
i cant see what they doing wrong maybe they should look back at the way they approached f3 and dominated, have they changed something other than adding a roof to there cars!!

yes, its completely ture, MG have been struggling with the new Dunlop tyre, different tyres will suit different chassis, and the Dunlop tyre dosent suit the ZS, im pretty sure if we still had the BF Goodrich rubber MG would be bang on the pace this year and would have a serious go at the championship, but the Dunlops dont like the ZS, im really disapointed this year, but i love MG to death, the company is great and the Racing, WSR, top job, a lot of people dont realise just how many sleeples nights and hours the people at WSR have put in, top job. lets hope by the end of the season we see more MG wins, and Colin and Waren on the top spot. :)

Of course, MG would have had two wins by now had Reid not thrown away victory at Rockingham. Even he admitted afterwards: "You'd think I'd be old enough and experienced enough now not to make amateur mistakes like that any more."
Really happy he won at Croft, though. I don't think Hughes or Turkington would have been able to win it in quite the same cavalier fashion. If they do win, I think it will be a case of them leading from start to finish, rather than having to cut past people. Not that I'd mind - I think they both deserve a victory at some stage this season.

The MG's seem to have found more speed but are they reliable? Colin Turkington has had nine engine changes this season already.

Proton are having a terrible year. They achieved a few good results in 2002, and I was hoping for so much more this year.
Was anyone else standing at the parc ferme at Croft? (after the second race) Phil Bennett looked like he was about to explode! He zoomed into the parc ferme, ground the gearbox to death, switched off the engine, then stopped the car hard. He leaped out and didn't half slam the door hard! After that, he stomped off. :(
Poor guy. Not a good season for Proton at all. OK, so David's is slightly better, but not by much. :(

If you think about it all the teams bar Vauxhall have had the miseries at some time or other.
Honda's wheels have fallen off/engines blown/pit stops, Protons everything, MG's engines and tyres - about time Vauxhall had a spate of failures.

I was at Croft (how could I miss it with a name like mine) to see the MG winning, and it did seem that the car was very good around the whole circuit. The car is much improved, and the drivers are just getting onwith it. I admit to being a Muller fan, but it is so good to see the MG team finally fufilling their ambitions and being at the top where they belong.
Looks good for the rest of the season. We now have 3 manufatures cabalbe of winning, and at least 9 drivers cabable of winning.
It was good to see the Peogeots do well, and Dan Eaves, shame about Dan Buxton, he had a bit of a ruff ride.
Roll on the rest of the season.:D
