Is there a better line up than Mat and JP?
6 consective independant wins, out of the last 18 podiums, they've got 10 of them...
IF Mat had started with JP at Brands and they hadn't had all their bad luck, how well would they have been doing?

i think matt jackson would've taken the title if he'd had a full season, him and the lacetti seem like a great combination!!

What if Plato hadn't made that move at Snetterton ?
He'd have had a lot more points in to Turk & Gio.

The SIlverline line package is one of the best in recent years.
They have two of the top three drivers from last season.
RML are one of the top motor racing teams in the world, and designed the Lacetti so know it inside out.
The Lacetti is proven race winner around the world and has a lot of in put from Menu, who in my opion is one of the greatest touring car drivers.
I think if the deal would of been made earlier and RML could of run Plato and Jackson in there testing programme along side the Cruze like Vaulkhard did then the team would be in the running now for the title. Remember due to changing team names early in the season, both Plato and Mat throw points away in the team championship by running under RML name

I have to be honest, Jason Plato and Mat Jackson suit the chevys really well. They are good team mate combination aswell. If only they hadnt had bad luck they would be fighting for championship aswell.

I knew when JP and MJ were announced as team mates that it was going to be one of those fabulous seasons (well it always is isn't it? :p) It's a perfect match, Mat J is such a calm, smooth driver. JP's had his moments but he can do the same when he needs to (Knockhill Race 3 for example)
I've got my fingers crossed for 2010, but you don't know at this stage...

hate to spoil the party guys but i can think of way better driver line ups behind all of the hype surrounding the chevvies at the moment, maybe next year will be better for the chevvies(if they are still on the grid) as things move along so fast though every one else will also be upping their games. due to the way the btcc swings from one team to another then back i dont think that the chevvies dominance will last or that they will leave everyone else eating dust next year. in my veiw vxr still have the best driver line up on the grid, i wasnt sure when muller packed his cases and move to shores afar but vxr pulled it outta the bag with the signing of giovanardi whos record speaks for its self. he also has a strong and succesfull team mate in matt neal.
before anyone starts to say that i must hate the chevvies, i dont but i am simply offering my opinion to the initial post and giving my version of the answer. maybe if vxr were to get plato on board as well then we could be talikng about a raelly formidable line up but as its their last year we will never know:)

I had my doubts about this car,i didn't really rate the Lacetti as a race car full stop, but as the season has progressed, both Jason and Mat have got the best out of it,plus we're always being told it has the strongest engine in the current line up,that shows with it's straight line speed.I can't see this dominance lasting into next season though, plus who knows what driver changes will take place over the off season?

to be honest i think its acase of a team knowing their car. RML built the car and can run it pretty well maxed out where as Bamboo with "same" car seem to be lower mid field at best

I think you're right....RML have maxed out the Lacetti. Plato and Jackson in RML/Silverline Cruze's next season would worry quite a few people!!

the lacetti could win the championship no problem next year given the right driver, the same as the cruze could do the same.rml are the best team on the grid,no questioning that and if i was any of the top drivers, giovanardi, turks, neal i would be heading to wellingborough to try and sort a deal to be in one of there cars next year.
they will update the lacetti if thats what they are running next year or just sell them on to customers.
the cruze will be a bit different in that it has a lot of waivers for uprights, plastic windows etc and the fact that it is a bigger car wont make it so nimble etc,but still what competition is there for next year??

the lacetti had similar waiver's on its wtcc debut season and they continued its second year, they then switched to the cruze and applied for similar waiver's. please also bear in mind the wtcc is a highly politcal championship and works teams have a special way of getting things from the fia that just dont happen in btcc with the demise of works entrants.
none of us have any clue about next years championship so its at best premature to be saying who will win it when no has even entered yet

I have to admit, they have had an excellent season. I certainly didn't expect them to be running this high. If it wasn't for technical issues etc, both drivers would be in with a shout in winning the Championship
