Brazilian Rubens Barrichello and German rookie Nico Hulkenberg have been announced as Williams' new driver pairing for the 2010 Formula 1 season.

Glad to see Barrichello get a drive, no need to retire yet and Hulkenberg seems to be a very talented young driver, so hopefully he can be like Hamilton/Rosberg/Glock, rather than a Grosjean/Piquet Jnr.

This opens the path for Rosberg to go to Brawn, but seems Nakajima may have lost his F1 career, but 17 finishes and no points shows he may not have the talent.

good line up i think for Williams...as soon as they announced the split from Toyota you knew Nakajima's time was up!

Just hope they can do a good car and that the Cosworth engine is competitive

you never know, if toyota fail to land a big name they could go for nakajima i guess - have an all japanese line up in a japanese team - nakajima/kobayashi....

if williams can finally build a consistently quick and reliable car, then barrichello and the hulk could get some very good results next season

I really hope Williams can be competitive next year and if they are I think Barrichello will get some really good results and cause a few surprises. I can't wait to see how good Hulkenburg is as a lot of people are speaking highly of him. Nakajima's time is definitely up. Toyota only want potential race winners in their car. They're letting Glock go and he's a much better driver than Nakajima imo.

I hasten to add that it looks likely that they're letting Glock go.

Glock to Renault ;)

Yes I'd agree with that. Wouldn't be surprised if that happened.

There was talk of Button going to McLaren if he didn't stay with Brawn.
And nothing has been confirmed (I believe) that Button is staying with Brawn, so we just have to wait and see I guess. :)

The way hes been talking, its all about him wanting to stay at Brawn and planning for next season with Brawn. Theres been speculation about McLaren, but hes not mentioned or hinted about a move there in any way.

Yeah Button wants to stay with Brawn but I think he'll price himself out of a seat and end up at McLaren. Raikkonen's wage demands will be too high for any team in F1 and I think he'll end up taking a year out to go rallying or something similar.

Interesting piece in the paper though

Button took a drop from £8m a year to £3m this year, to allow Brawn to get the cars together. He is asking to go back to the £8m he was on. Put this into perspective, Alonso will be on around £25m next year, and Massa £18m. I expect Hamilton will be on over £10m a year as well. Button is champion, theoretically as the best driver, he should earn the most, but hes asking for a third of what Alonso is getting. Not much to ask in my eyes.

Personally, I think a move to McLaren would be the best way to try to defend his title next year.

Not sure Brawn will have the same advantage at the start of next season as they had this.

Anyway on topic! If Williams can put a good package together around the Cosworth engine, then hopefully they will have a good season and even return to the top step of the podium. ;):D
