Only 2 works BMWs for the 2010 WTCC championship. Farfus and Priaulx are the drivers. Zanardi retires, Muller has gone to help with the BMW M3 GT car and we don't know what is happening to Hernandez. It could be a hard time for WTCC next year as Seat will probably do the same thing. It is tough times for them.

The reason BMW has done what it has is due to seat announcing major cuts to its WTCC plan too :)
RBM will be running Farfus & Priaulx, so Schitzer & ROAL are no longer in the WTCC.
I feel the championship will see very few entries next year. Ok, there are more cars available for independants to step in, but i dont thik we'll see anywhere near as many cars as there has been in the past.

Its just the Way things are, the IRC as Got 8 manufactures registered for next year, you win some you lose some.

The cuts aren't forced to be a negative thing. If all 4 manufacturers return then the championship will still be competitive. To some extent having 5 works BMWs and Seats was a bit excessive. Also less works seats means only the best drivers get a look in (hopefully) making the racing even closer.

I like it Personally, I never cared much for Just seeing a 5 Seat and 5 BMW Train, Made 2009 quite Uninteresting IMHO..
The Fact now that Priaulx only has Farfus to help him and Vice Versa etc makes it more off a Fair Fight, Chevrolet (and dare i say it Lada) now have a good Chance off Coming out on Top Next Year..
Could even see an Independent Win a Race Outright next Year..
If anything i feel these Cutbacks have made WTCC more Interesting :)

I think there will be lots more independants next year so the grids will be good and losing the trains of Seats and BMWs is a blessing in my eyes.

I think one thing is that there will be a lot of good drivers on the market this year looking for drives. Guess depends what Seat do as well!.

BMW have a virtually all the Indy teams as their customers so in many ways 3 less works cars wont change their manufactures status. They will probably make the latest updates and data available to them faster.Plus no indy driver is going to hamper Andy + Agustus

Hopefully with less manufacturer competition from BMW and likely SEAT, Lada will stay in it next year.
