We spend alot of the time talking about the front runners but lets go to the drivers further down the grid noticibly Hamish Gordon My views on him are that he is very nice person and seem very down to earth and a nice bloke to talk to. Amanda ,Claire ,Alan and Myself have all voted for him in the Seat SuperPrix but he's now last on the grid for the SuperPrix what are you thoughts of his efforts this and will you vote for him. I know he'll be very happy to move off the back of the grid. Send me a PM for the website.

I have e-mailed all my clients at work to vote for him and that around 2-300 people so hopefully that will get him off the back. It must be really demoralising for him to see every day that he is last on the grid, but I am determined to ensure that he won't stay there. At least Robb Huff is ahead of him so he's guranteed not to get knocked off!!!!!:) :)

excellent Gordon Sheddon up to 12th - come on mate.

£30,000 off next years entry will do him a treat and I could have another mate winning the championship.

Just been on to the SEAT site and voted, I voted for Hamish, mainly just so that Rob Huff is last on the grid. Its not that I dont like him its just if he is last then we will see him come through the field and see just how many people he can overtake without pushing them off!!!!!;)
I would have voted for James Pickford but he was already first on the grid, so thought not much point.
It would have been nice to see a number of how many people have voted for each driver. What is nice to see is that the Lady drivers are not all at the back, maybe they will show how good they are and get some good results.

I thought their might have been afew guest drivers from the Spanish champ, but that does not seem to be on the cards, would have been nice to see. Almost, the Brits against the Spanish. Nevermind maybe next year.

Umm I've done the same. I like to see someone race from the back and as he can't have the cash then it will be for honour.
This race will be on the Grand Prix circuit and the finishing positions will be the grid for the second race.

Prize money is £100,000 in total. The press release says £30,000 to the winner of the Super Prix (Indy circuit race), £25,000 for 2nd, £20,000 for 3rd with additional prizes down the order and for fastest lap.
The cash will go towards their 2004 Seat budget.

Happy Jamie? Hamish has claimed 4th place on the grid for tomorrow's big race. Paula Cook wasn't so popular - 14th and last.

Well the seats lived up to their usual wreck fest. Barrett had an aufull start and got hit by someone turn one then just about everyone went off, hodgets, who had the mother of all saves in paddock hill mid race and went on to win the second race, pickford who started last after getting stuck in gravell race one went on to pick up the 20 grand for 3rd. Someone (cant remember who) threw away second place and a possible 25 grand.

lets just pad that out a little and fill in the missing bits and names.

qualifying/test sessions were a joke. I left half way through after seeing 3 cars going round abreast at 30mph. In the second session it was a little bit better with Stefan showing us how to slide round Graham Hill Bend lap after lap. The comment was they only needed to do 3 laps.

1st race
Natalie was hit but won't say who by so on 4th October we will see. Spencer Marsh and Karl Goshawk ended up in the gravel. It was soon sorted out and ended up rather processional.

2nd race
Spencer Marsh and Karl Goshawk in the gravel (what goes around comes around IMO). Races running with Stefan leading by a long way, Gavin Smith second, Steven Colbert 3rd and James Pickford 4th. Gavin spun all on his own at Surtees gifting his 25,000 to Steven.

Melaney Healey got 1000 for most improved driver - well done.

actually, Barratt was slow away as mentioned in the press release. At the front Shedden and Hamish got side ways (have a brillant pic of that which we will upload to seatcupa.net later this week) but both recovered.

However Barratt was taped into a Spin by Spencer in the braking area, Spencer with broken steering then went straight on One of them collecting Pickford,so Barratt reitred in the pits later and Spencer and Pickford not Goshawk ened up in the gravel on the first race. Westwood led almost from the start.

Pretty sure Goshawk did retire later.

As for second race, not quite sure what happend with Spencer as we were at Clearways, but he ended up in the gravel at Paddock. From reports on our site, Karl joined him the next lap (but not 100% sure on this). Pickford whos started last but oen finished 3rd and had a fantastic race, really impressed with that. Hodgetts walked it after Smith had the spin, with Colbert taking second and Pickford seemed to settle for third. Westwood was 5th IIRC, maybe his tyres suffered a little too much in the first race as he was coming under pressure from Smith and Hodgetts near the end.

Andy, it was one of those incedents where everyone wanted the same bit of road. It was Paula who tipped Spencer into the gravel but in her defence she was tapped into Spencer's car by either Emmett or Steven it was hard to say.

Over all a ruddy good weekend and to stunning races :D :D :D

sure Spencer and Karl went at the same time but I lost sight of Karls car so whether he had rejoined and then retired I don't know.

Very entertaining and I look forward to the TV coverage.

It was a great days racing
the blue car that went off race two at paddock (think Karl) did it all himself, just lost it.

PS. did anyone see the see the state of shane linch's car, prob the most wrecked car ive ever seen. He was ok though

andyb
29th Sep 2003, 03:41 PM
yes, spoke to Spencer, Karl fell off on next lap on his own.

Yes, Shanes car was well damaged, so was the Morgan, we saw them try to get it in the transporter. Looks good as a convertible.

Good to hear that Lewis is OK. Released from Hospital, just with concussion

Jamie P-E

The reason Shane was ok was because he wasn't driving it, it was Piers Johnson I assume that he's alright as they didn't have to stop the race.

Who saw the 77 porsche go past the ferrari round the outside at Paddock and at druids that was the move of the race and it was done by on fast lady called Liz Halliday!:)

29th Sep 2003, 05:35 PM
yea it was a good move, you see the less acurate monouver the dewalt tvr did on the championship contender taking him out! Also i found out having a morgan coming towards you at 70mph is quite scarry, even with a barrier.

What's wrong with that?

He deserves a chance as much as anyone. Money doesn't grow on trees these days. If you look at his website, you will see that he gave up a good job and the security of that to go racing. That takes some guts. Hope he does well. :)

It would have been nice to see a compleate rookie win it in the seat for first time although on reflection having a profesional will be better for the series with them being competitive instead of being the one idiot in every race who drives round at 50% with more money that sense.

Oli will give Stefan Hodgetts a good race. He is a very good driver and well deserving of the award.
