First shot of the car. Go on the Ferrari website and you can see other angles of it.

I love the Ferrari look, the white on the wings looks different and I like it. Not sure about the Mercedes look, too metallic for me I think.

Merc: I was intrigued to know how they was going to implement the Petronas turquoise on the car, but I actually quite like it, much in keeping with Merc's branding.

Ferrari: Hmm, the white does break up all that red and I suspect that's to help the Santander logo to stand out more. At least it's not all one colour.

Over all both are good.

Well, I think the Merc is metallic looking due to them being the SILVER Arrows!!;) I think the livery looks great though.

The Ferrari looks similar to the mid-2000's when they had a lot more white on their cars from Shell sponsorship. One thing that is noticeable is that Ross Brawn has been proved right. He said at the end of last season that there would be a lot of Red Bull 'clones' in 2010...the Ferrari is certainly that. VERY similar, especially the nose.

The Merc is actaully a Brawn GP car in the new colours. They havent yet unveiled what this years car will look like.

And I dont think I like the Ferrari paint. Dont know why but it doesnt sit well with me.

.

Yes ... I know why its metallic, just said it was too metallic for me so therefore not a great fan

And I think its good there are plenty of Red Bull clones, if that was the quickest car, it was obviously everyone would copy it in ways, so hopefully if all the cars end up similar, it will go down to driver skill and end up with some good racing ...... heres hoping :)

Anyone know details of when other cars are being unveiled? Heard McLarens was this week?

EDIT: http://carlaunch.mclaren.com/ ... McLaren's launches in 20 hours or so, which makes it 11am tomorrow by my counting :)

A friend of mine (on XBL of course) will be going with the team to the all the races during the season. He works on aerodynamics for the cars.

I love the look of the Mercede's livery!!! I wonder if the car will look much different from the BGP001 of last year :) we'll find out soon :D:D

The Ferrari looks amazing too, the white wings add a bit of colour and life to the car!! And, its quite differet from last year too :)

And for the eagle eyed forumers, if you have paid a visit to the autosport website, you can also see a spy shot of the new Williams on track at Silverstone!!! The front end of that thing looks amazing!! what a differet looking car compared to last years!!

WOW! The new McLaren looks absolutely stunning. It is certainly a striking and radical looking car...makes the Ferrari look plain dull. Certainly fit for the 2010 World Champ, Lewis Hamilton!! ;)

I like the new Renault formula 1 car. A different livery which i think looks really good. Looks similar to Jordans old Formula 1 car with the Benson and Hedges sponsor. The Sauber car looks a bit plain at the moment but hopefully they will have some sponsors by the time the season starts.

I was going to say exactly the same as you. Reminds me alot of the late jordan cars, and alot better than the orange and white ing colour scheme.

Not too sure how to take sauber's car though, no sponsorship on it whatsover

SpeedRacer

Sauber looks a little plain in its white and Black. No major sponsor announced by the looks yet. And the Renault looks good. Reckon when all the cars and there new liveries are on the grid they will grow more on everyone.

After the official unveiling this morning, that new Merc looks sexy!!! I thought the McLaren was good looking but the Mercedes is stunning.

Possibly still had my beer goggles on from drinking yesterday!!! After seeing further shots of the Merc, not as stunning as I thought!! The Maccer still holds top spot in the beauty stakes....and the Williams is a nice looking car too.

RBS = Royal Bank of Scotland

I know its like the other banks and was helped out via the government. Meaning if you pay taxes we own that bank there for we pay for that sponsorship.

Ok have to say that the VR-01(Virgin Racing/Manor) looks good. Black and orangey red. I think this year maybe the best for liveries at least.

So far, my fave is the McLaren!! What a stunning car!! Love the shark fin design aswell :D

The Mercedes is a nice looking beast, and the ferrari is OK...

The Renault is horrid!! it looks like it's gonna be out stinging everyone, not racing :p stick it by a barcode scanner, and see if its worth more than 50p :p

The Sauber looks blumming quick too..... but then again, BMW probably spent most of last season developing it, but then again, we dont know what fuel loads they're running, as many teams will probably be evaluating handling when the tanks are full, checking consumption, and analysing all the data for making sure they dont run out mid-race

The new Virgin Racing Car looks amazing. It will look brilliant around the streets of Monaco:)
It definetely looks similar to the Midland F1 car a couple of years ago.

I'd say the only bad looking car so far is the Sauber, all the others look great, the Mclaren looks really elegant, I love the Virgin colour scheme and the Renault looks like an old Jordan.

Yes they have been banned for the 2010 season. I'm not sure why but I remember the commentators saying that it will be the last time we see them in Abu Dhabi.

Torro Rosso have last years Red Bull RB5 painted in their colours with a few little tweaks :p

I like the Virgin car, i cant see why peole would dislike it.... ok, they have redesigned the VXR badge... but hey ho, its a nice looking car :D

The Sauber currently loks like a Formula Superleague car, but with some sponsors on it it'll look a lot tidier.

But that Renault :O:O am trying to bring myself to like it, but its quite frankly, IMHO the worst looking F1 car that has ever been built!!! I just call it the wasp now... but if last year is to go by, it'll not be stinging anyone this year :p

They'll probably use one of the shorter circuits... its their 1st run, so no doubt it'll be a little bit of track time for each driver to shake down the car, get used to controls, and make sure all is right before testing in anger at other circuits. I cant wait to see how their times will compare against other teams, but i think they could be the best of the new teams in 2010

I really like the Lotus design, probably one of the best yet. I can't see USF1 or Campos being on the grid but would love to see them make it. If one of these teams doesn't make it then I hope Stefan GP get a opportunity because the old Toyota's they have bought could be quite competitive. (If Toyota have remembered to change the brakes!!!!) :D:D

Lotus and Virgin seem pretty much Set.. Campos is the 1 Team i have Doubts about, Surely you would make sure you have everything you need before you apply... Could end up being the Team 48 of Formula 1 :p

USF1 i guess is they are based State side.. Even though once again, I thought they would be Ready by now.

To be fair though, the main part of the website hasnt been updated since 25th Jan, and we dont know how old those pictures are, so they may be in a much better position then it seems. I personally think Campos will be less likely to make it than USF1 and hope Steffan can get their place if they cant make it. But as a fan of America in general, I hope the US team can make it .... even if they aren't using American drivers

I think people, not on this forum as such but in general, need to back off USF1 a bit. All these 'fan critics' wouldnt have a clue how to set up and run a F1 team, so to criticise the US team is just stupid. For a team basically setting up from stratch, a few mistakes along the way and some money problems are expected, which is why im not too fussed if they miss a few races to get themselves set. Whats better, them entering the first 4 races, being a good 10 seconds a lap off the pace and causing a nuisance to the other cars, or joining late and, while probably still racing near the back, being a bit more competitive. In the end, they could stick around in the series for many years to come and reignite the love of F1 in America. Missing 4 races is a small sacrifice if they have a good long career in the sport.

I think unfortunately we won't see USF1 on the grid at all. Their main financial backer and a director of the team have left due to the lack of progress being shown, the site of their base in America has been put up for sale and the only reason they have asked to miss the opening races of the season is to buy themselves some time in getting new investment before the inevitable happens. And I think that even if they made the grid, their hopes of reigniting the love of F1 in America are zero. Most Americans don't get F1, they find it boring and NASCAR rules the roost and always will do. Even Indycar (apart from the Indy 500) are struggling for big attendances at their races because America just prefers stockcar racing to single seaters.
