When it was taken down they said it would be stored at the circuit and possibly put up elsewhere on site in the future so hopefully it should still be around. I wouldn't think reinstating it would be a big priority for whoever takes over though.

Wasn't it going to be placed at the entrance for people to drive through?

On a slight side note does anyone know if they completed the tunnel that the trucks would of used to get to the pit complex? If so what would be the plans for that now? And if they didnt finish it thats going to be a huge pile of money to sort it out for who ever takes over the lease.

Depends on how you define 'completed'. The track above the tunnel was in use last year and although not perfect the issues with the reduced run-off have been mostly resolved.

Every time I've seen pictures of the road through the tunnel it's been a foot deep in water. All the surrounding earthworks have caused drainage problems, to the extent that a couple of meetings last year had to be cancelled or cut short due to the track flooding. The retaining walls around the tunnel can best be described as a bit of a bodge.

Obviously the new pit complex won't now be built but you still need to get trucks onto the infield for hospitality/trade stands (assuming the infield gets re-opened at some point). That means either filling in the tunnel and re-opening the track crossing, or properly finishing the tunnel. My guess would be the latter as the cheaper option but either way it's yet more expense.

Oh that's not good on a track where it rains a lot... :(
