Always good to have a new winner and regardless of whether one-lap sprints to the flag after the safety car is something that rubbed off on TOCA from their exposure to Champ Cars (I write this having spectated from Paddock Hill and having no idea of the incident that caused this - plus the PA system kept going quiet!! ), it was good to see Turkington having a go, after all, he had little to lose.
It's a shame that the Championship was virtually settled (barring incident/mechanical 'issues' etc) but the more races Vauxhall don't win, the better next season looks to be.:D

It seems that it was due to Chilton's rear bumper that had falled off - and rolled onto the grass!!!!
Why this warranted the safety car I have absolutely no idea - surely if there is a real danger on one of the last three laps of a 35 lap race then you'd put out the red flags?
This isn't Alan playing playing about, trying to please the crowd is it?

no comment on the safety car but a very well done to Colin - he looked as pleased as punch after the race.

The win for Colin has pleased me :-)
Those Vauxhalls are not invincable, looking forward to more of the same at Donington :D

A great days racing was soured by the petulant and disgraceful
behaviour of Yvan Muller in parc-ferme. This man may end up winning the
championship on the track, but off it he is an absolute novice. He needs to
be made aware a professional racing drivers responsibilities
do not end when he steps out of the car. If he is going to win the
championship, give him the title now so he can clear off and not come back.

Of course it is - he's done it every race since Rockingham.

See seperate thread. It realy is pathetic. If the racing isn't good, change the flipping championship, dont keep deploying the saftey car pointlesslesy, and then say it was nessisary.

The safety car was NOT deployed pointlessly - and to avoid repeating myself see the separate thread!!
And who said the race wasn't good anyway?
I am sure the rules about deploying the safety car have not changed - except of course that laps are not now added to the race distance. We could of course theoretically have a race finish under the safety car - as has happened at ASCAR (if my memory serves me correctly).

I agree, he shouldn't have done it. But the guy clearly REALLY wants to win the title, and I'd personally rather have some drivers with real emotion that cross the line occasionally than a load of F1-type drivers with no personality.

not seen it but heard about it (sort of) so not commentating on the specifics... but I agree with Paul - you need a bit of passion in there.
I have spoken to Yvan numerous times this year and it was all 'I vin for Vauxhall' or 'I don't mind about vinning the championship' etc etc. I was worried about his attitude - was he so laid back that the championship did not matter? Nice to see it does!
not that I condone what he has done and from Mr Gow's comments it has already been sorted.

Have slept on this since my post, and still don't regret the words I used. I and my companion saw first hand what we saw and it was not pleasant. I expect the punishment not to fit the crime.
