Buemi had a very lucky escape in a freaky accident in practice today.

Yeah I saw that. Confused as to why people were yammering on about steering columns, looked like a brake mount/wishbone failure to me.
Did you see the onboard shot? Just after he goes off track he veers left, hits the wall lightly and straightens up - look how long it takes the second wheel to land. And where it lands...
Scary stuff.

Wow what a freak accident that was, glad Seb is ok though, could have been so much worse:eek:

Just read on Autosport that it was a front right upright failure putting too much pressure on the left upright causing it to fail at the same time.
Also says they are changing to an older design for second practice.

OMG, the way those tyres went into the speccy area, if that had happened during the race those areas would have been packed. fact is there is not a lot you can do to stop that from happening, most debris fences are 20 feet high a tyre can bounce 100 feet. Even you speccys when the track is live stay alert and always have an escape route, you are only ever 2 paces from safety, just knowing the right way to step is the hard bit, or get down flat on the ground try and protect your head

Yeah, they were trying new parts, which failed, so are resorting back to the tried and tested ones.

This is why we need for the teams to be able to go testing! That could have been a lot lot worse, thankfully SB is ok, just imagine though if that had happened on lap one. No on second thoughts lets not.

Yeah, anyone not stuck in the media whirlwind around Schumachers return, could see that Rosberg would be quicker :)
Loving F1 just down to the fact Red Bull are dominating :D Its awesome to see, Vettel is a superb character and driver, and although he should have 3 wins already, should get ahead in the title race tomorrow. Come on Red Bull!!

And Hamilton needs to grow up and stop blaming everyone in the team for his mistakes. Button's got the same equipment, less experience and fewer friends in the team and is still consistently outpacing and outperforming him.

Man, your so wrong. :D Easily the best race of the season so far. So many things going on. Nice to see Alonso can only do well if he cheats, the sack of ****.
I'm glad Button is doing well, he really excelled himself, showed just what patience and tactical thought can do.

Apart from Button pulling a Plato (Snetterton 2009) to slow the field down to a ridiculous speed under a safety car, and Hamilton coming close to taking himself and Vettel out in the pits. Then you didn't miss much.

Have to agree about the Button incident but not the Hamilton - Vettel pit fight.
They were both released at the same time Hamilton got a bit of wheel spin and Vettel tried to cut through and gain position. Vettel should not have tried that and Hamilton should have let it go and not tried to stay side by side before giving in. Both drivers were in the wrong and thats how the officials saw it too and both drivers were warned about the incident.

Teams don't always run identical cars they have there own team of engineers for each driver and they sometimes make mistakes. Nor do share every last detail of setup info wlth the other drivers engineers.
Correct me if im wrong I thought Jenson had been at this F1 game a bit longer than Hamilton, say 120 F1 races longer. So who has the most experience then?

Button merely slowed down, he didn't break heavily, there fore he did nothing wrong. That's why it wasn't even looked into. As for Hamilton/Vettel, Vetel could have given Lewis a bit more room, there was no need to try to squeeze him back in towards the pitcrews. Gladly with the new race stewards (ex drivers) sense has prevailled and they just get a reprimand.
As for the comment earlier about Alonso cheating, I assume that was aimed at him jumping the start. Having watched the replay of the race start from behind. It looked more like Alonso reacted alot quicker to the lights going out than anyone else on the grid, but I suppose the sensors etc. would have told a different story.

Outpacing and performing right there. Cooler head, better decisions, not running and blaming the team for everything like Lewis has been, like a petulant child.
Maybe my phrasing was a bit off, I meant he had less experience within the team and didn't know the engineers as well.

Hamilton has been quicker in 3 of the 4 races. So the 'outpacing' honours go to Hamilton. The 'outperforming' honours, yes at the moment they go to Button as the points show. But its a long season and there are many twists and turns to come. Lets not jump to conclusions about who is the best driver just yet!

Three out of four? Button has won two. Sure Hamilton put in some lickety-split laps tey didn't achieve anything.
If the Chinese GP had gone on for five more laps Hamilton wouldn't have finished in second, because he murders his tyres - another area Button has him beat on.

Hamilton has been quicker, but Button has made the correct decisions. Therefore when you put it down to raw pace, Hamilton wins. When you put it down to decision making, Button wins.
In the end we have two British drivers who are both at the top of their game and making Formula One exciting for British fans this year (except me, I dont support either of them :p) So why try and compare the two, just accept there both world class drivers, with different characteristics that make them ... them!

If the there had been another 5 laps they would both have been running on canvas and Rosberg would have been past them.;) Hamilton went from over 10 secs down to finish 1.5 down in the space of 3 laps Jensons tyres were just as knackered.
Ps I dont favour either driver, for me Rosberg drove an outstanding race.
Now Vettel is a far better driver than Webber. :p Opinions please?

Rosberg is an incredible driver, and I'm really looking forward to him cutting his teeth this year - really going at it.
Bit of a disappointment for Hulkenberg, he looked so good in pre-season testing...
And agreed on the Vettel front. He was ****** fantastic in '08, was enjoying watching him right up until Monza and at that point it was clear he had what it took. What's irked me is that Buemi showed the same inklings of greatness but hasn't really gone anywhere.
Webber is a great driver, but I think he's 'pulling the Coulthard' in Red Bull now - just filler.

I wouldn't call Webber just filler, he has improved greatly over the past couple of years, and fillers don't win races or get given the chance to race anything but second fiddle.

Barrichello was filler last year, Hamilton was originally filler for Alonso, Hill was filler for Senna and Prost...
Not saying he's past it, just...overshadowed. :D
