Does anyone have any insider knowledge on the Porsche Supercup for 2004?
Something I have noticed in Autosport over the last few months is the number of cars that have been put up for sale.
I believe the Championship is possibly one of those on the MSA hit list due to it's not fullfilling minimum average grid sizes.
There must be an underlying reason why the championship hasn't flourished, be it financial or the way it is run, but the GT3's are lovely looking cars, and on their day make for some great racing.
It would be a real shame if the championship fell by the wayside.

95% chance that there won't be a Porsche championship next year. It hasn't flourished because it's too expensive, particularly the cost of spare parts.

Being replaced on the TOCAtour by Seat Cupra Cup.

Havent Porche just brought out a GT3 road car based on the racing version?

You would have thought they would try a bit harder to get more people to enter - such as subsidising spare parts.

It was my understanding that any Porsche cup would be racing in the F3 + GT support package along with Formula Ford, whilst Formula BMW and the Seat Cupra Cup will be racing with the TOCA tour.

comments made to me was that Porsche have a 3 year contract with Toca and they expected to stay
The grid was up this weekend as more are coming in which is nice to see.
It is an affordable way to get 2 races each weekend and you could use it to join the F1 support supercup.

and lastly - well done Tim Harvey. I have always hated seeing celebs in a championship as one wrong move could be a disaster but Tim went past everyone a treat - absolute master.
