I have just been on the Edenbridge web site and it says it has teasted its new ETCC car around Brands and it would have been on the front row at the BTCC rounds this year. I was quite supprised by this. I did not think that the ETCC cars would have been that fast, but then thinking about it Brands is a track that favours cars with more grip than BHP. So the ETCC cars would work better aroung there, lets just see how they do around circuits with long straights on where the BTCC cars can use there extra BHP. If the ETCC cars are as fast there I would be supprised and happy, that next years championship is looking good.

well, look at the proddie BMW, hugely down on top speed, but RWD is what you need really for brands hatch. Im still suprised, but the BMW is a good car (not that im biased or anything ;) )

The comparison is a bit meaningless for now since it has not been decided how the ETCC-spec cars must be 'modified' to let them compete in the BTCC.

We have not tested the ETCC car and have no intention to do so until after the current Championship has finished.

Croft fan - I suggest you have another look at the Edenbridge website.
It is talking about this year - not next!
Thanks to Peter Briggs for pointing this out.
